Question Router causing problems

My partner and I recently installed a linksys router to network our two computers, provide a firewall, plus allow his laptop to be wireless... all of which seemed to be a good idea at the time.

However, we've been experiencing a whole lot of troubles, mostly with TGP scripts not recognizing that our gallery submissions are coming from two separate IPs.

I have to admit I'm not very tech-savy, so I asked about possible solutions to this at a couple of the tech boards, and got a bunch of different answers.

Some said the router is definitely our problem, and suggested I get rid of it; others said the router can be configured to allow our two different IPs to be 'seen' by TGPs, which would allow us to keep our firewall, etc.; BUT one person said getting rid of the router, or reconfiguring it won't make a bit of difference because my partner and I are using the same internet connection, and even though we've been given 2 IPs by our provider, a lot of TGP scripts are still going to see our submissions as coming from the same source. :o(

Surely there are other partners sharing an office/household who both build and submit galleries...how do you manage this situation?
