SEs and layers
Ok, I am building some pages with mouseover layers on them. Just how do the SEs treat them?
My thinking is that because they are just basically tables with an ID they should be treated as normal coding, even if they are not visable by default. Theoritically, since I have 1000s of items in the DB, I could create 1000s of hidden layers on the page. Only about 30-40 would ever become visable from mouseovers for that page. |shocking| |

You can now put whatever you want in this space :)

I say avoid layers when optimizing for SE or make a leaner backend that they can spider.

I had to rework a bunch of pages because of a layer. I put the code at the top and the contents of the layer was turning up in tons of SERP descriptions. If you've got a bunch of layers that are all similar you'd probably be dangerously close to keyword spamming.
