I'm new at this and Greenguy...

This is my first and only Adult site so far. I've been doing some submitting but so far none of the big traffic sites have added me. (Yeah, yeah, I'm done whining now.) I'd appreciate any feedback from experienced webmasters especially on what I might want to change to get listed.

BTW: Green guy, your submit page seems to be tits up.

1st off, what's wrong with my submit page?

2nd, what kind of site are you trying to come across as? Link List? TGP? This isn't the typical Free Site that Link Lists link to.

1st: When I hit the submit button it eventually times out with a "Cannot find server" message in the browser title bar and the page just has the generic IE "This page cannot be displayed" message. Tried it a dozen times.

2nd: Damn good question! This is definitely a site in search of an identity. It is shaping up more as a link list than a regular free site. But I'll probably end up with more total content than 90% of the free sites out there. The "plan" (and I use that term loosely) is to have 2 galleries of 10 to 15 pics each in each of the categories. The content is provided free by my sponsor Gammacash and as I start adding galleries I'll end up with a few hundred total pics. Once I start adding the galleries in new categories I'll change the layout so there will be 2 galleries immediately above each category.

Link lists go on the left with those nifty looking table links and sites in the list that actually link back to me (all 2 of them so far) get a 2nd link on the right.

1 - that's an ongoing problem that is really out of my control - long story short, my server can't get to your server to verify the info before it times out & the time span for this is set at the max that my hosting company will allow for things to time out

2 - 400 pics on a free site is about 370-380 too many. Most Free Sites have 20 pics total & not too many people will list a free site with more then 40 pics.

What you might want to do with this site is make it into a hub or sorts & use those 400 pics to build 20 or so Free Sites that promote the sponsor & link back to this one.

What's with that thing floating around? It's very annoying.

Also, I don't list sites that have counters

2. Hub? Like http://www.thisdomain.com/asian and http://www.thisdomain.com/bdsm etc...? Then just provide links to the individual subdomains from withing the top level domain? Seems reasonable. Then I guess the idea would be to submit each subdomain individually to link lists?
3. No Counters? I'm sure you have your reasons... Is there a thread you've already posted them in? I did a quick search but did not yet find anything definitive.

A hub (by most of our definitions) is a page/site that you link to from your other sites, but you don't submit to Link Lists or TGP - sorta like a page that's all yours that you feed with your own traffic.

You do this bu building Free Sites & Galleries on the domain - stuff like http://www.freeasiannudesexpics.com/free-site/ & http://www.freeasiannudesexpics.com/gallery/

As far as the counters, there are a lot of threads on them floating around here - this is the one when I announced I was banning them:

Long story short, counters have become more malicious with spy ware & trojans & hacks & whatnot over the years, so a lot of Link Lists & TGP's have banned them.

I was unaware of the SexTracker/pop-up hell/spyware/trojan/etc... connection. I'll have a look at the AWStats thing. Once I get comfortable with the direction my site takes we'll see if it is something you'll list. In the meantime I'll just cruise this cool board and see what I can learn

Not a whole ot of need for a counter if you've got a good stats program, which awstats is a good one. Awstats will give you a hell of a lot more infomation than any counter will. And much more valuable info. Plus much more reliable counts, I've found many counters to be off in counts, traffic/hits, ect. Some very far off.
