If you own a TGP - Why would you SPAM your submitters with porn?! That has got to be the biggest waste of fricken time!

I'm getting a shit load of Adult/Mainstream spam lately to my submitting email and I think a TGP/LL owner sold his list of wm emails |pissed|

There is a fairly large LL that asks you if you'd like to submit your freesite to search engines. (Don't do it!) Ever since I did this I've had my webmaster mailbox stuff with spam; mostly for porn stuff. Geez, I guess I don't have access to enough free porn! LOL

I rarely have the time to submit galleries, but my submit email gets a ridiculous amount of spam. Even worse, the email I used for an avs site was sold almost immediately.

I have asked myself this every day since I started getting the flood of emails that obviously came from either a tgp or a sponsor selling my addy.

I cycle thru email addy's for submits. I'll use one for about a month and then throw it in the bit bucket.

Keep it for much longer than that and it'll be unusable from idiots selling the address.

Downside to that is link list owners like to see submitters using the same mail addy consistently. Otherwise, you have pretty much zero credibility with reviewers. And some lists will actually ban you for trying to submit from mutliple mail addys. Once again, thanks to all the scammers and cheats.

Face it...spam...pain in the ass that it is...IS part of the biz...get used to it. Today has been a busy day for the cocksuckers...I've deleted well over 400 today. Leave em on the server...scan the list...only takes a couple seconds...select all...DELETE. If there's a good mail in there...UNcheck that one...then DELETE. Simplest way to handle it...and frankly, I'm too busy to get overly stressed about spam.

it's also an option that there databases aren't secured and that someone just stole the emails or something...

but then again, I don't see the purpose of spamming webmasters

I use Spam Arrest, and I have filtered out this year almost 900,000 spam, despite the filter, I STILL get several 100 a day to my mailbox.
