I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman!

![]() I have a site that's 4-5 months old. Currently, I'm getting about 1-2 unique hits every minute, half of them continue to the sponsor, but also they do a second page hit.
Interesting thing is that whoever activated that hitbot doesn't pass any referring URL, otherwise said in my stats it says: Ref: No referer Raw: 1962 Unique: 500 Sponsor hits: 267 Ratio: 1:2 Any idea?!? ![]() -- Andrew

And Lord, we are especially thankful for nuclear power, the cleanest, safest
energy source there is. Except for solar, which is just a pipe dream |
Do they have different IPs?

check to make sure you are not getting hit by either a site scraper or one of those very strange and stupid bots. I have had a couple of bots in the past make a total mess of my stats, clicking on everything, running in circles, and generally being really stupid.
However, if you are getting a LARGE spread of IPs, here is something to try: On your page, put a hidden link off before everything else. Send it to drudge or something. Then recheck your stats. :-) Alex |
