International Models
I was wondering what the US law was regarding european models used to shoot content?
Is that content allowed to be used in the US even if all the proper 2257 info is in place? |

That's still open for legal debate. The way that the regs read is that if the producer is over seas then you can use the content if the IDs were issued bu a foriegn government. If the producer is US based then you can not use the content unless the model IDs are issued by a US Government agency. Producer is defined as primary and secondary.
What's open for debate is statements made by the DOJ afterwards stating that US issued IDs are only needed if the original production was done in the USA. It's also debatable if a driver's license issued in another country is acceptable since that country does not need to open records to the DOJ. Passports are good. Contact a good lawyer and NEVER take legal advice from soneone that is not a legal expert and ready to defend you. Even lawyers disagree on the points I mentioned above. |
