I'm going to the backseat of my car with the woman I love, and I won't be back for TEN MINUTES
|
Anyone know how this is done on a server?
I need to setup an alias on a server and I need to know how to do it in idiot terms. Is there someone HERE that can tell me how to do this or point me in a direction of some place that will know?

My host has a control panel where I can do it. This is often different depending on how your host has you setup. Probably best just to contact tech support at your host.

just edit your vhost entries and point the public directory to that of the domain you want.
some control panels allow you to do this as well....domain mapping. |

I scanned your domain, giving me an unsure on your OS but looks like a MS box. IS that true? If so you really need to make sure your DNS is set up right or you are going to have bigger issues then just setting up a (A) Record. Allot of your sites that you have posted here seem to be down. More info from you would be helpful. Jugg

This is on my own personal server, not anything listed here. The ones listed here are my jobs... my own personal sites/server is what I am working on on this matter. ![]() And it is a Linux Box... ![]() I am just trying to learn some of this on my own for future knowledge I guess you could say. ![]() |

With $10,000, we'd be millionaires! We could buy all kinds of useful things like ... love!

Make sure the DNS for each domain points to the same IP
If running Apache, use the "NameVirtualHost" option and point all names to the same Document Root mod_rewrite could also be another option
