I am looking for a script, with no luck thus far.

I have a blog that I am trading hard links on. What I'd like the script to do is allow me to input a URL at the onset of the trade. Then I would like the script to go check that my link still exists on the other site. I'd like to be able to have that automated through a cron job, with the results emailed to me.

Anyone ever see anything like this?

I have not seen one but I am sure that it would be something simple to get wrote. If you dont find anything let me know and I will see how long it would take our programmer to write which should not be to long. I wrote something like that in perl years ago but it didnt check links it would update them on other sites for you. Someone wanted to trade hard links they just down load the script remote and it would create links to their site on all the sites in the list and it would make the links to the othe sites on theirs

Nope! As far as I know not even WordPress with it 10 billion plug-ins has one to do this.

wordpress and blogging in general is still in the hippy dippy happy "we are all friends" stage, but they are starting to realize that people are fucking them over bigtime. Splogs and hijacked PR are really starting to get to some people. I would not be surprised to see some sort of link check feature come in future editions, as the bloggers become more and more cynical and jaded.
