ICANN wants webmaster comment on .xxx: Speak up!
http://xbiz.com/news_piece.php?id=14496
MARINA DEL REY, Calif. — The approval process for the .XXX top-level domain has taken yet another turn. With ICM Registry submitting a revised proposal, ICANN has once again opened the floor to comment from adult webmasters. Adult webmaster will be able to comment directly on .XXX via a forum on ICANN's website. “Whether you’re for .XXX or against it, this is the time to speak up,” Tom Hymes, communications director for the Free Speech Coalition, told XBIZ. “At this point in the process, silence is a vote of support for .XXX. That’s the perception at ICANN.” The forum is here: http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-tld-agreement/ You post comments by emailing this address: xxx-tld-agreement@icann.org

This is really something that WM's should and can do easily and IT's FREE! See many of the 2257 and FSC threads here for the roundtables on this issue. I'm for .kid and against .xxx. Whatever you think... get involved over there and send an email! This directly affects your business future.

It appears there's only one post so far. I'll be posting later today or tomorrow and I think that everyone should post. The posts should be well thought out, no flaming and we should focus on the bigger issues here as opposed to just the amount of money it may cost webmasters.

I posted this alert, then started to think about what I was going to write. But I've hesitated because I suddenly thought: what if they want me to put my real name on this? It will be posted on a public forum... that the bad guys may read.
So I'll submit my comments under an alias and see what happens. The post by Bruce Friedman pretty much sums up what I was going to say.
