Please be gentle with me :-)

Hi everyone...

Any help you can donate would be much appreciated..

Here's my story:

I'm launching a new VOD site in January, MovieQuickie.com.. Pay Per Scene, and my goal is to go against the big dogs.. HotMovies, Gamelink, AEBN.. So I need to obviously generate a lot of word of mouth through affiliate programs as well as click through traffic.. I'm extremely new to this side of things, but I want to learn as much as I can, especially being the founder of the company. There's nothing worse than meeting with a possible investor and not being able to answer the question, 'So How do You Plan on Getting Traffic??'

For starters, I'm attending Webmaster Access in a couple weeks.. So if you're there, look for me..

But is there any basic FAQ or something that I can learn about for me to get things started? I hope to find an awesome webmaster soon, and have a couple possibilities, but I'd also like to get as fully involved possible, without stepping on the webmaster's toes :-)

I'm also trying to figure out how I can create an affiliate program that would convince adult webmasters to consider using us.. A reason to switch, just like how Cingular, T Mobile, and Verizon compete for getting people to switch carriers all the time.

I aplogize for the long and elaborate email.. Jim was extremely helpful giving me advice over the last couple weeks and so I figured I would get the input of everyone else.

Thanks!!

Kory

Hi Kory,

I'm fairly new to the the Adult biz and free site submitting game myself, and I didn't dare to venture into anything like what you seem to be doing right away.. although I've had (and have) many BRILLIANT ideas...

But I can say for certain that if you really plan on going up against a BIG DOG in ANY established business without much experience, I assume that you either don't quite realize what you're getting yourself into, you have deeeeeEEEEP pockets, you have some bigger dogs in your immediate family... or you're plain mad

Otherwise, it might be a good idea to get familiar with this biz by reading lots of boards, talking to the good people here at GG&J, make a large load of free sites, blogs, galleries or something else that won't cost much other than time and effort... it's amazing how much and how fast you'll learn stuff by doing that!

Then again, I could be completely wrong... just my 2c.

Good luck!

Most important of all, do not confuse "email" with "post", as it makes a werd impression

Thanks Jim!!

Sorry about the 'email'.. I meant 'post.' Thank god this is the newbie section.. lol..

Deep pockets.. Not really, however funding for the company for 1 year, yes... Its my goal to make a profit in a year, paying back the investors.

Marketing plan... Yes.. I have an idea of what I want to do, I also plan on advertising on the radio and also shooting mini commercials for the web, among other things...

But besides that, I really want to educate myself with what's going on in this community. I plan on attending every webmaster event and don't mind me for asking a lot of questions.. My 'newbie' post seems much different than others that are on here. I appreciate everyones feedback!! Don't you always route for the underdog in the movies?? That's me!! :-)
