Moving a blog

Hello,
I did a search first for what I was looking for but came up empty. Basically my problem is this. I started a blog on a free host to see if I liked it and if it liked me and to kind of learn the interface and mechanics. Now it is time to move said blog from the free host to a server home of it's own. Wordpress and the like are still pretty new to me so I am going by touchy feely and other's advice just now.
I decided to move my few posts by hand but found that everything i put into Word Press was dated the day I moved it. Is there a way to move these posts and not have them dated all one day?
Moving from http://spank-me.thumblogger.com
to http://www.spicey-blogs.com/blog/
I do not have link trades or feeds to worry with (intentionally since I was pretty sure this was going to be a long term project and did not want them disrupted by moving). I won't have any outside links until I can move my posts and customize the blog.
Any advice you can give would be appreciated.

Use the RSS Feed from your free host blog, since you don't have many posts, to import the feeds into WP.

Or, if you want to move them by hand, on the right side you can edit the post time stamp

walrus is right thats the best thing to do...
if your wondering how/where to do it... once logged into your blog go to
MANAGE>> IMPORT...
then you just decide which method you want to use.

Walrus is entirely right of course! Thank you so much for the help and also the alternative courses of action.
I am currently moving the blog by hand.
The issue that I ran into with the feeds (and maybe I got this wrong but better safe than be thought a cheater) is that the image source actually pointed to the freehost storing the thumbnails I was using to link to galleries and I appeared to be hotlinking off them. BAD GIRL! So I am moving them by hand and changing the image location.
