You need to clarify the event:
1. Was the sponsor url listed as a referrer or a 'page' in your domain? 2. Is it redirected TO or FROM the sponsor? 3. What's on the 'other side' of the redirection? 4. Do you use a freehost? 5. Do you have an .htaccess file set up?

Let me see if I can Explain
1. It is in my refering stats of a sponsor 2. It is redirected to a NOT NICE web site 3 I don't use a free host, never have 4. I have htaccess setup on my domain only 5. The URL in my sponsor stats is an URL I have no affiliation to what so ever. I have never seen or heard of this URL until recently. I don't know if that helps any but thanks -webman |

OK - let me check I understand clearly:
1. The url isn't anything to do with you or your domains. 2. You had a hit at your sponosr from that url. 3. The url now redirects to a 'nasty' site. If the above are all true - unless you have had a complaint from the sponsor you may as well forget it... There are many possibilities but - if the url is now redirecting to a site which is not your sponsor then you should have no further worries. Sometimes shitheads steal source code from sites and put pages up to attract search engine traffic, then redirect to their own sites (so they will get se hits) ... I know a webmaster who had hundreds of thousands of hits to his sponsor - on his affiliate id - fom a domain containing fpas stolen from him... bloody idiotic site stealing bums didn't even have the sense to change the affiliate id - lol

How many hits did you get from it? If it's one, pass it off as an error & forget about it.

O.K. Thanks,
Yes, 1,2,3, are all correct, and yes it is about one or two hits. I was concerned because of the fucked up site it redirects to. -webman |
