New free tool for gallery and freesite builders.

The blurb

After getting seriously frustrated while building galleries I figured I might as well scratch the itch that frustrated me and have everyone benefit from it.

The scenario: you download some content sets from your sponsor, only to find out the images are named in such a way that they're out of order. Doing the sorting by hand is a pain in the ass.

Enter my little tool. The way it works, you upload a zip file containing the images you need to sort out, and you can then merrily drag and drop your way around, ordering the images as you see fit.

When you're done, you can download a new zip file with the images inside, named sequentially (e.g. 0001.jpg, 0002.jpg) and so on.

Fun facts

1) The files you upload are removed from the server after 8 hours. If you can't sort a gallery in that time, well, sorry
2) The zip file you can download is only available until the time you start sorting a new gallery. So download the damn things before you start sorting a new gallery.
3) Uploading 500 images at one time isn't a good thing. The tool handles it, but your browser won't.

Odd stuff

If you are busy sorting a gallery and accidentally reload the page, no worries. All that will be lost is the sorting.

Tested on

It works in Firefox. It seems to work in Safari. I have no idea whether this works in IE. Someone's testing it now so .. guess we'll find out.

The catch

No catch. It's free to use. If it gets abused I'll start putting the smack down. If you really like this tool, feel free to send me a donation on Paypal (paypal@xirinet.com) for whatever you feel it's worth.

If you want your own private copy, or want it integrated into an existing system you have going, I'm open for discussion

So where is it?!
