Web filtering software for kids
What's a good one for a 14-16 year olds? I'm looking at NetNanny which gets good reviews, but wanted to see what some fellow webmasters use.

In all the .XXX debate I noticed that K9 Web Protection was recommended a few times.
![]() http://www1.k9webprotection.com/aboutk9/overview Funny thing when I went to look the link up on Google, the search suggestions listed "how to bypass" in dropdown box so lots of people must be searching for a way to get around the blocking. ![]() |

Yep... you said 14-16 year-olds so it's pretty much a lost cause unless they ride to school on the smallest of small buses (and probably not even then). By that age if they don't know how to defeat parental controls, the real problem to worry about is that they're not learning as fast as their contemporaries.

I'd set up custom settings in the admin
![]() Periodically checking the history and reset the settings again if needed. You can block anything pretty much.
