Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, I Hate Fucking Computers.
This has been the year of dead hardware for me. Two internal hard drives have gone bad, one external drive, one FireWire bridge chip on another external drive, my cell phone, one of the computers in my car, and now my FUCKING brand new laptop. New laptop gets here yesterday, I clone my desktop system to it, ninety minutes later I'm using it and couldn't be more happy, take all of my stuff off of my old machine so that I can bring it to the buyer, and then it dies, dead, will not boot except in safe mode. Spend all night messing with it, but since it will not even boot from the system DVD disk I know it is bad. Called Apple this morning and arrange for warranty on it. I just got back from bringing it in and paid a rush fee so I should have it back in 48 hours. Warning fruit jokes will get you banned. |skull| |skull| |skull

Yeah they think the logic board took a dump. I actually prefer buying refurb equipment because usually if something is going to fail it does in the first 72 hours.
Actually I have never seen a new laptop from Apple go bad, but there is a first time for everything, had a brand new tower from then arrive with a dead DVD drive last month, but for the most part their hardware is usually very good. I see a lot of it since I do computer consulting to the design shops where I live. I just can't believe how much trouble I've had with electronics this year. My Vette has seven computers in it and the one that controls my A/C went bad a few months ago, that cost my over a grand to get replaced. The good news is I hadn't taken my desktop machine to the buyer yet so I'm back using it until my brand 24 hour old laptop gets fixed. |

Computers suck, cell phones suck, hard drives suck, I'm going back to crayons and paper for design and two cans and a string for communications. |

Intresting.
aome months ago, the logic board in my powerbook failed. A few weeks ago, the internal HD crapped out. A few weeks before that, one of my external drives gave up... and my cell phone battery has just gone bad! |noclue

I think that they are just making everything really cheap now. I have a Powerbook that still works from 1997. It is heavy as hell, slow as hell running moden software, no USB or FireWire porst, only runs for about 45 minutes on its battery and maxes out at 348 megs of RAM, but it has never given me one bit of trouble.
It is pretty useless as a laptop, but hooked permanently to my home stereo system and running Mac OS X and iTunes it makes a kick ass jukebox. I turned all my CDs into MP3s and have almost 20 gigs of music on it. BTW it is backed up. |

You lost me there, lol.
I used a Mac program called iTunes to convert my CD collection into MP3s. I also sometimes buy music from the Apple store, but mostly I still buy CDs and convert them. They end up in a big pile never to be used again other then sometimes in my car, lol. |

Apple, cheap? Not a chance...
I'm pretty sure it's all the Governor of California's fault. The problems will go away if Arnold gets in |
