dialer vs C/C

Hi i'm a new webmaster and i will like to know the diferrence bethween dialer and credit card suscription option... what is better to promote?

Dialers, while I'm told are liked & preferred in certain part of the world, are mostly frowned upon by webmasters & surfers because a lot of them are rather malicious to your system.

And, of course, they don't work on cable modems

Where I live "dialers" are the most popular paymethod. But these dialers aren't those that instal something on your PC, it just says on the site "Call this number and enter this code" works quite well here in Europe. If you're planning to do US biz just stick to CC in my opinion

OK I wont post the programme name though I am at present promoting a programme to WM's in the UK.

Now 80% of their UK traffic was being converted on dialers with 20% going to the CC option.

The Onwer of the programme wants to really push CC jions as its the rebills which make the really coin not the first sign up.

Im from a Card Processing background and hard a bad opinion of dialers but having seen the results I can understand why people push them.

If you go down the dialer rotue you have to bear in mind you only get one shot at the revenue with cards if you opt for partnership you can pick more recurring revenue.

Another VERY important point I only learnt this week, Google wont allow you to buy sponsored links if you have a dialer on your page, I think it was within 3 pages of the index (don't quote me on that)

The way the web is going Cards are going to become a real issue, paysite owners will need their own merchant account and will then have to plug into - lets say CCBill's gateway.

THe worst thing with any billing over telco's is that rev share sucks -

GG with regard to cable modens, are you refering to ADSL I do beleive there are ways in which it can work but its more hassle then its worth

One other point I forgot -

German law is changing and if you want toview ault content you have to go to the post office to complete and AVS check which you then fax to the site owners.

I think these guys will just opt for a dialer rather then go to their local post office and admit 'The're a wanker' ;-)
