Question FAQ Threads and/or Pages?

An idea occurred to me so I thought I'd whip it out and slap it down on the table

As can be expected, a lot of the same questions often get asked repeatedly; especially in the link list, newbie and search engine forums.

Would it make sense to have a stickied "FAQ" thread in these forums for the common questions? Or maybe a FAQ page for each forum with links to threads or some such?

I guess what we should do is to do a search, but somehow I always feel that my question is subtely different from those that have been asked before.

I am getting better though, and using the search function a lot more these days.

or, hit the faq link above.

I know when the upgrade to Vbulletin 3.x happened, that was in the plans. I believe Time has been a precious commodity, but, perhaps the powers that be would welcome such help.

In theory that's a good idea, but in practice the people who most need to read it won't do. Let's face it, a lot of things can be found by using the search function, but most people don't seem to realise it exists. Or can't be bothered to use it.
