.info means that at least two other people came up with that domain name before you did. I wish there was nothing other than .com. That way you wouldn't have to worry about copycat domains as much. That being said, I'm still in begging phase, so I don't currently ban .info domains. I don't like them, but I don't have a ban.

All fucking week long someone has been adding crap link trades off of a .info domain. All the same person, all complete crap, been banning them each day and the next day there is a bunch more in there.
This pretty much sums up what I see on .info domains. .info domains are banned at all of my stuff. |

Don't get discouraged; it's usually the last key that opens the lock...

If the submits are good and you don't cheat, i list .info sites.

I've got a handful of .biz domains myself...I paid and still pay the same amount for those as I do for my .com's at renewal time. As long as they submit quality sites and don't screw with me...don't really care if it's .biz or .info or .whatever ![]() |

The ban on .info and .biz domains spawns from the activities that makes everyone leery of Choopa, HQ Host, and EstDomains. There's no guarantee that a domain bought at Est is owned by a cheater, but you ban it anyway because history has shown an unusually high percentage of cheating by those domains. So, I certainly understand why the big lists who have been dealing with this shit for a long time do what they do.
Again, I still accept .infos, but if the whois shows that it's been purchased at Est and/or is hosted by either of the the two hosts above, it's blacklisted. Two strikes - you're out.

There are much cheaper hosts that they use. To me all submissions without a .com or .net are not professional so I don't list them. |

I see that I didn't answer the question
![]() I haven't banned .info domains. But if there's anything that looks questionable, I rather click reject than accept. |

I don't list any "off brand" .anythings... There are plenty of good .com domains still out there, why are you using oddball stuff? Many of the country / speciality domains do not allow for porn, or require that the domain is owned by someone from that country.
I list sites because I think they are going to be around for a while. I have no faith that .whatever will actually have an active site on it tomorrow. Alex |

MrYum, for some of those extensions, the exclusion is automatic (done by a bot) others are still manual. The only exceptions at this point are the very few prefered submitters that I have on my sites (they bypass certain bot functions). The percentage of .info domains that died in a 6 month period made it impossible for me to support them. Now that I restrict submissions per day, I cannot allow submissions I won't accept to crowd up the submit line.
It's not a comment on anyone's business intentions or goals, but rather a sad comment on what some other people will do to make money. Alex |

mryum my prefered list might open soon a little bit, I am seriously considering approved submitters only like many other lists. It's getting hard to keep setting up filters to get rid of the scammers.
thankfully, when I run my existing site bot, I am not having to kill off very many sites... things seem more stable now. Alex |
