Maxcash not as good as they used to?

Hey All,

I was wondering if maxcash is not as good as they used to be, I don't see people posting as much as they used to!

Anyone knows?

Aren't they converting anymore?

Who would you go for if you were me, I'm trying sunnydollars are they any good?

...which sponsor paying $35 is still worth using?

I hope for some good suggestions and answers!

Thanks
Sodo

MaxCash is still going strong for me.

Of course, Sunny Dollars is doing rather well for me also.

Oddly enough, I am hoping to get my stats for Aug 1 - Oct 31 posted later today, so look for the announcement on them & then you can take a look at all my stats

I dropped Max Cash to a third tier sponsor about a year ago.

Were they ever good? |raygun|
I'm an eternal MAXCASH hater!

They fucking screwed me for some 7 grand, so I don't have a good opinion about them... I must confess: I converted them rather well in 1999 despite their shitty sites once you were inside

GeorgeTH - I've never had a problem with Max cash - they've always been in my top 3 money making sponsors.

Sure, they had their problems a few years back, which hurt everyone, but there's not much anyone could have done about that.

How did they screw you out of $7k? I know a few people over there - I'd be happy to help you get it resolved if you want.

I use to make a shitload of money with maxcash, now I make somewhat less than a shitload.

However, they generally do okay, I wouldn't go looking to take them out, and I do use them in newer sites I build if they apply. If I am planning a campaign of some sort, they are part of the mix with other sponsors.

Over time, of course, their sites have become overexposed, and many of your surfers have already either seen the ads or been a member, which makes the click rates on their stuff lower. My only real complaint with them at this point is the lack of fresh banners for all programs, I sort of wish they would release a new batch for each program regularly. Some sites haven't had a new banner in months, and haven't had a new full page or partial page ad in a year. That makes it hard to "keep it fresh".

I still cash the checks, and still enjoy getting them :-)

Too old a story: was in late 1999 or frist half of 2000! They cancelled one check of ~$3,800 and I kept sending traffic in the hope to resolve the issue (since to this day I feel innocent!), so that was another 6 weeks of earnings...
They basically accused me of 'cheating' w/o specifying how, and Alyssa (or anybody else from MaxCash -"we don't communicate with cheaters"-) refused straight out to produce any evidence! I never sent anybody to their sites with false promises, but used to have really good conversions (~1:40 in some cases) and sure several people cancelled trials (my guess at least - I never got any figures either) because their sites really sucked (small grainy images, badly organised, several sections in index style with no navigation pages as front, etc.) - - - but is that my problem if they can't keep members?

At the time I knew of about 3-4 other 'big-ish' webmasters with exactly the same fate! If I remember rightly one was calling himself "Camel Joe" and used to be listed on almost all big tgps at the time.

I flat out loved max cash... for the longest time.

They were the first people I think to do the "POTD" deal. I promoted that on my main page forever. it converted great.

then one day they made the decision to start censoring their POTD pics. I understand their thoughts and reasons for doing so, but it was literally catostrophic.

I got a ton of emails from people who visited the site often just for those pics, irrate. It cost me traffic from my main sites as well as signups across the board.

My signups hit rock bottom with max cash since then, causing me to diversify my sponsors a bit. I mean I literally started getting 1/20th of the signups in a month than I previously had been.

Start sending that traffic elsewhere and making a bit more money % wise.

Overall, I still promote maxcash though very limited. I still get signups from time to time on the old links as well. Its nice converting a click on a 3 year old site with a 3 year old ad

the whole max cash team is absolutely top notch. Great people, I love to work with them. Their message boards are a wonderful resource too!

But overall I've never promoted them very hard since the day they started putting big blue/red/green bullseyes on their POTD photos. (which dissapeared soon after I removed the links)

I totally agree. When they started offering only softcore pics they started downhill for my friends and me. Later the offered a limited number of hardcore pics but they were old from years past.

When they went through the addition of, I didn't count, 30 or more sites they didn't offer any hardcore for that either, or no content at all.

Now none of these matters to me in and of itself. I can afford the content for any sponsor I choose. But it was an indication of what they were doing with their tours. They toned them down so much that I couldn't sell them anymore.

The same applies to the sites the bought from the old Cashquest. I was making loads of money from a couple of those sites. Then Max Cash toned them down and turned them into non-performers for me.

As far as the personnel over there I know most of them. One actually contacted me and asked why I was send so much less traffic. I told them the why and they asked is there anything we can do? I told them what I thought they could do for me to pick them up and promote them heavily again. They said they would look into it. That has been about a year ago and nothing has changed

GeorgeTH - damn - not sure if I can help with that one, seeing as it's 3-4 years old - but if you want, I will contact Aly & see if there is anything we can do to get the situation straightened out

I don't send MaxCash much traffic anymore, but what I do send them converts very nicely.

That POTD worked well for me too. The popup rotation was pretty brutal though, especially if you are going to censor pictures.

Thanks for the offer!
The only thing I'm still very curious about is what I actually had been accused of - since to this day I feel innocent re. 'cheating'...

I remember around the same time (probably ½ year later) I received an email from CECash that my member retention was well below average and that I couldn't be paid for trial sign-ups anymore, so that's what I assume happened at MaxCash, too, but I believe the approach by CE was a lot more decent than Maxcash's way of just pocketing my money.

Hence: when it comes to sponsors my memory is like that of an elephant, and whenever I read a thread praising Maxcash the anger resurfaces. Anger mostly because Maxcash simply refused in a very arrogant manner to communicate.

I had originally linked directly to the photo pages, instead of their main pages which had that pop up console rotation. It was nice because the majority of my traffic to their sites came from their POTD ads.

Then one day they stopped counting those hits for me. I was assured they didnt stop counting signups but signups also reduced somehwat that initial week. I've always been a panic'er so i panic'd and changed links immediatel.

I send traffic tot heir main potd page, though I warn surfers about the pop up rotation. To this day it doesnt seem the count clicks from the POTD ads, only signups. since all of my other sponsors keep track of those hits for me, its kind of frustrating. I'd really like to know if someone is clicking those ads.

Of course, i'm very grim with all of this, but checking my stats I see a I got a signup for Fetish hotel from them and that was a 1:37 conversion rate, for the month.

targeted traffic can work pretty well on a few of their select sites.
