What does this mean in a URL? :800

I have a link to a site on my LL
http://www.karumz.com/mat/free85/web

and when I click it, the link in my browser changes to this: http://karumz.com:800/mat/free85/web/

I figured this was the best place to post this question since it's technical in nature, yo

That means that the webserver is running on port 800 rather than 80.

Their nameserver is fetishspace.net. Is that some program's free hosting? I've seen that quite few times now and consider it suspicous. Maybe AFRevenue?

Once I clicked that link and it was :80

thats just the port that the server is running on..
What reasons for they don't have it running on the typical port 80 is strange and might have any kind of reason. Ofcourse this sucks for people running a fire wall..

The only reason I would put a server on a different port is in order to hide it from the public..

Here is a list of some common ports
http://www.pantz.org/networking/tcpip/ports.shtml

One of the sponsors that I use uses an odd port for some odd reason.

Holy, cow, that's a crazy list, Cleo... I'm getting a bit confused now

So is it a bad thing if the URL changes to :800 or :80 once I click on it, could it be a problem, or should I just list it and not worry about it?

I wouldn't list anything that redirected to anything.
