Useful Software for WMs

Useful Software for WMs

Ok, I compiled a list of software I use that I consider useful enough for others to consider.

I know good software cost money, so I'll post also for what I use it for regularly. I'm not selling these products - just sharing my experience.

1. Arles Image Web Page Creator
This is thumbnail pages generator. It can create complete galleries from templates. Templates are easy to create since you can convert your existing templates with little effort. It supports automatic creation of different sized thumbnails, based on your template requirements. It also creates fancy thumbnails and can sharpen them to look better. In time you will create really great galleries with little effort.

2. Adwords & Keywords
Cool little utility that can recommend search engine (Google) phrases based on the ones you type in. It displays number of searches and R/S ratio which can help you to decide for which keyword phrases is easiest to obtain high Google ranking. It also displays number of PPC links for your Google advertising needs. I use it to optimise my gallery pages for good keyword phrases.

3. Alexandra's Reciprocal Links Solution (Arelis)
This is powerful tool for obtaining high Google PR. It scans top search engine results for given keyword and scans those pages for contact information. Than you can send customized e-mails to those contacts asking for a link trade. It keeps track of sent link trade requests and after confirmation of trade it automaticaly can create links page with sites who link to you. It can also scan who links to your competitors so you also can ask for trade.

4. ColorImpact
This tool can recommend matching colors for your web pages based on given color. It has prebuilt web page templates from which you can learn which colors match. I use it on all my pages and they look much better with well-matched colors. It also can recommend which color will stand out on a page, so it's great to emphasize a links to sponsors.

5. DomainPunchPro
This tool scans available domain names based on a set of given keywords and their combinations. If you need good domain name this tool will find it for you.

6. Unified Stats
This is freeware-adware product that scans your affiliate stats and group them in single report. I use it once a day to collect info on my sales. It supports many programs.

7. Web Log Storming
This tool analyzes apache web server logs and presents gathered information in readable format. It has too many features to mention. If you want to know your traffic - this is a tool for you. (well, that actually sounded like sales pitch - I make far too many galleries to be able to write normally)

8. Xara Webstyle
Great tool for creatin web page graphics. It can create headlines, banners, bullets, 3D headings, even complete image galleries (but with javascript which isn't very good if you make TGP galleries). It integrates itself into Dreamveawer and it helps me a lot with graphics. It has many built-in templates and is very customizable.

That's it...

Now - that explains where all these emails in my SPAM folder are coming from. Almost every 3rd day I get an email from an obscure site asking for a link exchange, and mostly pages with low Alexa and/or Google rating - - -
I used to check out all traffic trade suggestions in depth - all this has archived is that now I'm so tired of opening traffic exchange emails that I'm probably ignoring the few interesting and possibly good trade suggestions - don't know if that's really an improvement...

Bullshit. It's not going get anyone a high PR because most of us will shit can the unsolicited email from a total fucking stranger. If you care about link trades, you do it manually, one at a time, and you contact them via a board or ICQ.

I agree with you - spamming will not get you anywhere. Every tool can be used or abused, it's only a choice to be made by individual.

With honest approach, I managed to find trades from PR0 to PR4 in about 40 days. I used it as an informative tool and invested a lot of work into customizing every single mail I sent to different webmasters. Main purpose of this tool for me is to keep track of reciprocal hard links on my sites because doing it manually can be pain in the a.. and is very error prone task.

Of course, it can be used to spam people like crazy. I presume that you can send thousands of mails daily to different keyword oriented sites.

Since Google will soon drop (if it isn't alreday) high PR value from their algorithm due to numerous abuses, ARELIS might be soon obsolete.

Same here...if you want to do link trades, make it personal...it's better for business and personal relationships all around!

I have #3 and will say it does seem like a good tool. But the problem I have with it, is that its grabs every dam site with the keyword you place in. Have not used it in a few weeks but remember it did not seem to like key phases. I have to agree with UW manual is the way to go. What this tool did do for me was find places to trade with by keyword but I had to fish threw the tons of shit sites that it came up with. If you use it for a niched keyword you are going to be in trouble finding good trades. But I would gather if you tweeked it out, it should be a good tool.

I have an upgraded version of Arelis, I just use it for research if you limit it to 20 to 30 links and one search engine at a time it's a super fast way to see who's dominateing a keyword.

Edit pad lite is open 24/7 on my computer.
Here's a couple tools, that are popular in mainstream and allmost make you feel like your cheating.

http://www.thedowser.com/

It has a learning curve, but this keyword tool has balls, I realy didn't know there were so many ways to screw a latina

http://www.webceo.com/

This program pretty much tells you what your competition had for breakfast
compare your site to your competion, Stay with the free version I tried the pro version out, you get a little more info in one sitting but they still charge for their monitering service, and You could spend a fortune just monitering websites with them

http://www.essentialpim.com/

My favorite program at the moment it's the handiest organiser I've ever used only thing I miss is spell check, I'm looking forward to paying these guys
