new site advice
My nylon niche site is less than a year old. I feel that I have created an extremely user friendly, clean site offering four new galleries daily. I had hoped by now that my numbers would be higher, but I've been kind of stagnant for a couple of months. Right now trying to stay away from non-clean sites (blind links, redirections, etc.) for I believe that kind traffic is worthless.
Please look at my site and let me know what you think. Thanks. http://www.ameslegs.com/ Bonnie |

Hi Bonnie!
Your site looks very good to me. Clean, straight to the point. What numbers are you talking about? Sales, traffic, link trades, SE hits, page rank...? |

Building traffic to a niche TGP without using any skim to trades is going to be a very slow process. One thing that is critical is to get your trade partner links in a prominent location so you can get surfers to click those links. Take a look at stocking-mania.com for a prime example. He has huge traffic, but he's also been online since 2001.
My advice would be to enlarge the top referrer list at the top of your left column to include the top 25 or 30 most productive referrers. I just checked your trade stats at well-heeled-women.com. Your productivity is very good, but you've only been sending me 15 to 20 hits per day. I've been returning 25 to 35. Prior to the 15th of last month you'd been sending 40 to 60 hits per day and I was returning 75 to 100. I'm not sure what changed at that point. Perhaps you fell out of my top 30. It currently takes productivity that produces about 120 outgoing clicks per day to make my top 30 referrers. Last edited by Toby; 2006-09-06 at 07:26 AM.. |

A month ago, two things happened in my life which prevented me from posting updates for about a week. I knew I would suffer for it, but there was nothing to be done. That could be the reason why my traffic to your site has dropped.
Currently, I seem to be getting about 5,000 hits per day, which I don't think is much considering World Wide. But half of those hits don't stay, which tells me that they're coming from disgenuine sources. Thanks for you advice, and thanks for allowing me to trade links with you. There have been a few webmasters who have helped me tremendously and I would love to mention them by name, but don't want them to be inundated with requests from other newbies. I'll just hang in there. Bonnie |
