Hello there board….

I have been looking around and would a have a few questions on free host. Currently I have been paying for some hosting but was looking into the idea of getting a few more domains and using a free host to cut down on the cost of bandwidth. I know most of them are not welcome with some TGP owners but using different domains should be fine, I would think. Let me know ……..and many thanks!

Sometimes the TGP scripts actually resolve the domain -> IP and then they have the ranges pre-programmed to a blacklist so it really depends on the TGP.

Also the reason why list owners dont like to use freehosts are several. First many freehosts redirect certain traffic to splash pages and instead of free content they get hit with a sale. Secondly, free hosts have a tendency to be a lot less stable and at times slower hence their unwillingness to list freehosts.

But if you look thru it all you can find a few decent hosts, usually the smaller ones that have been around for several months prove quite well as they haven't reached capacity yet.

Check out: http://www.asfly.com -- good guys and make sure to have a backup of all your stuff there as well as any other host, as you never know what tomorrow could bring and you dont want your ass handed to you.

myles - you're always safer with paid hosting.

i believe that revsharehosting is starting to get blacklisted.

get a paid host that is scalable.

Don't you guys get free hosting from your ISP? Over here in Belgium all the big Internet Providers give you some free space to mess around with. Mine currently gives out 50 MB to every user, it's not much but it's never down, always gets good speed and has unlimited bw. It will get slower when you push 20k over there but it's free so ideal for starting out or putting a few free sites or galleries on there.

Maybe go take a look at www.crazyfuckedupshit.net if you're still looking for cheap (or free if you're lucky) hosting. Post a thread in the hosting area and maybe someone will cut you a deal. Seen alot of threads in there from ppl offering some free space.
