Cleo - I can't take your rejections anymore

Seriously: I'm wondering if I have to stop submitting to you, since this is the second rejection in a row for reasons no other free site has stated - - - at least today's is, I think, splitting hair:

Why don't you just put a couple more breaks in there or throw anther row in your table?

I thought it basically means: I want to see my recip link before I see the enter link - which I make sure of (except for blind people, but they shouldn't be looking at porn anyway) - and that's common sense to me.

I just hate to make what I consider ugly pages... I know that 90% of free sites fall into that category (from my point of view) but that shouldn't be an excuse...

I really start to hate all these little idiosynchracies about free sites - sorry, but I'm closed to throwing the towel - it's just taking so much time it seems hardly worth it...

Some expect you to read rules the lenght of a novel in a font or color I can't decipher, some have weird rules like this, etc. - if I try to do it right by every standard I spend on a single free site about as long as it takes me to get 2-3 TGP galleries done and hand submitted!
Currently it really takes me about 4-6 hours to get a free site (what I think) right (and then earn rejections), search for all the stupid niche recips and correct the bastards among them, and then submit them... If I re-use a tgp template it takes me about 20 minutes to have a tgp gallery ready including all recip-variations, plus a number of different submit thumbnails and uploading to the server; then it usually takes me another 50-70 minutes to submit with Roboform and confirm a few...

Better go back to work! A TGP submission waiting to be done...

Cleo rejects me a lot saying images do not load or something. I actually thought the meaning of that was the images were not loading. I thought I just had a bad host or something. I got new hosting, and got rejected some more.

It happens I guess.

I see the "JK's" before the enter link, but not before the "Porn Links!” I don't believe people scroll slowly enough to see the enter link before full JK recip anyways though.

I think it makes it worse that you got rejected from Cleos for having some one else’s recip 'adjacent' to the enter link.

If I was you I would update the list of places you submit.

I was actually rejected by a few places earlier this week because the woman in my gallery was not black enough for them.

The content page I got it from said thats what she was so I took their word for it. She didnt look of european decent to me though. Maybe a mix? Who am I to judge.

I just build, submit, and forget.

When I was starting with FS I also tried to be creative... did't want my sites look like everyone's else but I quickly noticed that was bad idea...
Now I make my sites as simple as possible, just applying to rules, and get listed almost everytime and everwhere...
It's sad but it works...

I also tried to be creative... It took me over 5 hours to build a freesite and still got some rejections, and average tiers on PenisBot
Now I build freesites in 1-2 hours, just remembering about all the rules and they get listed everywhere, and get better tiers on PenisBot. And you shouldnt argue with ll rules, just obey them

The nice thing about LLs is if you build your templates according to the toughest rules, you'll be fine on all sites. Most lists have the exact same rules & a lot of them are just common sense (like having the pics in order, not naked in the first gallery & undressing in the 2nd).

TGPs on the other hand seem to have totally whacked rules from one site to the next. You need 3 different thumbnail sizes, some take movie pages but their script bots don't read them right, only want recips with XYZ one day & then only XY3 the next, must have cum, must have hardcore, no hardcore on the thumbs...argh!

I only submit to a handful of LLs & a handful of TGPs. I'm sure I'm leaving money on the table, but at least my hair isn't falling out!

I hate reading stuff like this. I was browsing some TGPs the other day and some of the galleries are just gorgeous; true works of art. I never see free sites of that caliber; the opposite should be true.

I feel like TGPs and link lists have all but flip-flopped (sorry, it's been at least two weeks since I've heard that term, and I was starting to get the shakes)...seems link lists are getting more anal about rules while ignoring quality and sales potential.

If you make pretty sites, please send them my way. Truly misleading sites will be rejected, but I'm not too picky.

It's true! To the degree that with a truly ugly (or old-fashioned) gallery you don't stand anymore a chance on TGPs (don't even get listed by some sites where you have a password and the owner knows you)...

And yes - TGPs can be a difficult game, too! Hardcore thumb or softcore thumb, some don't like to see site x next to their recip, etc. Just that (despite a long brake) I'm still closer to that end of the market.

I agree that simplicity can still sell. From a link list owner's point of view, it's still nice to see attractive sites.

Have you been to a grocery store lately? The National Enquirer and The Star are on the same rack as Entertainment Weekly and TV Guide. Tabloid and glossy complement one another. I doubt either would sell as well without its complement nearby.

If you're suggesting I should single-handedly fill the void, I thank you for your vote of confidence. My free sites are quite lovely, I think. Some sell, some don't. I'm still trying to work out why some work and some don't. I'll be working on that for as long as I build. Consumer tastes change.

Yes, its sometimes a major PITA to follow everyones rules.
Thats why i have my own blacklist along with with my submit list. Whats that? I have a list of link lists that i will never submit my free site to - for dfferent reasons, mainly that they have gone to great 404 in the sky, but many have rules so unnaceptable that i DONT want to bend over and follow them. . For example there are few who demand their recip on the free site you submit AND your main page i.e. www.domain.com (and in a good place) - gimme a break - if they dont put a link to MY domain on top of their site in font size 7, bold - sorry, no can do. Another one says no more than 10 sites from one domain - i have to buy a new domain just for you? Take a walk.
Some recips are just out of this world, talk about people with eye disabilities, 450x300 or something like that...
BTW, my blacklist is way longer than the submit itself...

Lately been having problems with grammar. Ok, i admit, english is not my first language, and not even second. But, i was kinda good at it, when i was in school and university, but hell, i dont remember that words needed to start with a capital letter, except those for first word in sentence, and those that are names of people, places and few others. "I" also should be written with capital, i just hate to push shift everytime, lol

But when it comes to sites descriptions and titles, it beats me - some say CaPiTaLise, some say don't capitalise...

Why i do LLs at all? Its the longivety of traffic. Once listed, site stays for a good time in LLs archives, and sends tho a small, but targetted traffic, also, incoming links help with SEs. I do TGPs as well, though on small scale, traffic just drops from those in short time. But thats the whole another discussion

Bottom line is - no one forces you to submit on any particular LL - if you get declined too often - either discuss it, or drop it. There are LOTS of places you can submit your site, and it will be taken with pleasure

My 2¢ on the matter...

Cleo/Luna are a good litmus test.

If they accept then you will almost certainly be fine everywhere else.

When I first started Cleo caught me on some blind links and pointed out another possible issue.

She reviewed it, rejected it, I posted here and after a few posts to understand the issue I fixed it...all before the other LL's got around to it.

Why is it that people always only see what they want and not the bottomline.
They always try to justify how bad a rule is instead of doing one of two simple things.

Not saying that what you have to say is meaningless.

3. Drink beer.

One's perception of the rejection is what is important here. Cleo rejected me once because a TCG ad had the word 'young' on it. When I read that email, I didn't think 'fuck Cleo and fuck her rules even more'. I thought, 'how the hell didn't I catch that?' and 'who the fuck puts young on a teen ad anymore?' To me, rejections aren't because the rules are flawed, it is a flaw in my presentation. Then again, I have pretty low self-esteem.
