Cleo please help
Cleo,
I know you are pretty busy with your home remodeling but I hope you have some suggestions for me... coz I am stuck for the second day. I have a powermac beige G3, 300 Mhz and 512 MB DIMM Ram and I'd need a Sonnettech zif processor card to be able to run OSX but can't afford it atm, too many loans to pay back.. so the system installed is 9.2.2 and I am using Mozilla 1.2.1 (Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130) or Netscape 7.0.2... which is fine with me. Now I am using my gmail address for my tgp, for approving galleries, taking submissions, doing trades for a long while.. and don't know what happened two days ago but I can login still, etc. just when I try to reply my emails, my cursor turns into a clock and the browsers are freezing. It drives me mad... ![]() Any suggestions? Thanks in advance ![]() |

I really have no idea what is up. They may have changed something at their end that has made it incompatible with your system.
Maybe try a different browser to access their web site. I'm seeing things like this a lot with people that have not upgraded to Mac OS X. Basically many places have stopped supporting Mac Classic as there just isn't enough users still using it and it can't support modern JAVA. BTW I would not recommend trying to upgrade your old Mac. It just isn't going to be worth it in the end. The G4 Mac used towers can be found pretty cheap used now. |

Yes the icab error message is
Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on. and the IE5: Gmail requires ActiveX controls to be enabled Your browser seems to be Internet Explorer, and ActiveX seems to be disabled. Gmail requires ActiveX to be enabled in order to operate. To use Gmail, enable ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer. You can do this by going to the Tools menu, selecting Internet Options, Security tab, Internet zone, and either select the Default Level, or selecting Custom Level and scrolling down to "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" and selecting Enable. After enabling ActiveX controls, try again. ![]() PS It is enabled of course... Last edited by digifan; 2004-10-28 at 08:21 AM.. |

Supported Browsers:
- Microsoft IE 5.5+ (download: Windows) - Netscape 7.1+ (download: Windows Mac Linux) - Mozilla 1.4+ (download: Windows Mac Linux) - Mozilla Firefox 0.8+ (download: Windows Mac Linux) - Safari 1.2.1+ (download: Mac) Looks like you are screwed unless you update your hardware. ![]() BTW ActiveX was never really supported on the Mac and is basically dead technology on the Mac, probably Windows too in the not to distant future. |
