Maybe it is still pointing to his old server, don't know.

Looks fine over here. He definately has the domain pointed to his new server. http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/lookup...ica.com&type=A
It sounded like he wasn't pulling anything off of his old host until after he completely over and progated. Maybe an ISP failed to update along the route. That or it's the flux capacitor.

My ISP is Comcast cable which is a large ISP so it does look like a routing issue. Looks like he was a little too fast in deleting his files off of his old server.

Cleo - I think it's the opposite - you & me are hitting the new server & he has not yet uploaded all the files.
The root has some Phatservers text on the bottom, which is where he movied, right? |

![]() Cleo,
When I saw this thread I nearly shit myself! I tested my directory structure via IP before I switched DNS. I then tested via IP/freeadultsites/sitename and after 6 or 7 I knew it was OK. BUT- on that particular site the folder name was in ALL CAPS. the assets folder and pics folder got changed to all caps too (on my computer I think) Anyways...let me fix this site quickly in dreamweaver. If I must resubmit...let me know. Should be fixed in 10 minutes or so. You see it now, but the CSS isn't importing..also probably due to the case issue: http://www.smuttyerotica.com/freeadultsites/oldsluts/ I'm on it... |

![]() Just go ahead and resubmit. You probably already know this by now already but always use all lowercase to avoid these problems. |

OK site has been relinked. Had to relink all the thumbs and pics too. Clear cache b4 checking again.
What an ugly f'in site, btw. That's from 'back in the day' like 2 months ago. ![]() And yeah- I put in the text at the bottom page to see when my ISP's nameserver updated. I still have the sites on the virtual host as well...which I'm going to cancel today. JUST a slight heart attack when viewing this thread is all. ![]() Case sensitive weirdness. |pissed| |

![]() Those old sites are painful to look at. ![]() BTW, I remember this one...I had a banner up top with ENTER on it and you declined it at first. That was how I learned no 'enter' on index page. ![]() Last edited by Alphawolf; 2004-12-16 at 01:20 PM.. |

That was the only folder that somehow got chanaged to all upper case folders on my system. All other sites should have loaded for you as they are on two server's at the moment. |

That was the only one that my bot flagged.
I woke today to a ton of 404 sites and deleted close to 200 sites and banned a bunch of webmasters due to this. We all make mistakes. Being an active member of the board who builds nice sites got you special attention. ![]() |

Actually, it was a really good thing this happened.
To be safe I did a site: domain.com in google and went though each of my sites quickly. Back from when my hard drive took a shit- I have my 5 oldest sites had the same uppcase issue, though only in certain folders... So, the site would load, but no css linked and no pics linked 'cos the files I uploaded had all upper case images and/or upper case /ASSETS and /PICS folder names instead of /assets /pics Hell, in 2 cases the folder ASSETS was all caps and JUST the css file was all caps, but the others were OK. So, I downloaded the site folders off my old server then deleted and uploaded the lower case files. At least these were my 5 oldest sites from back in late August...so very little traffic. But- there probably was close to 1 day (depending on people's nameserver updates) where anyone who went into the old sites site just got a 'shell' site without any CSS imported or banners, pics, etc... ![]() Not good for me you or the surfer. Glad I had that one main folder that was in all caps and Cleo posted...otherwise I'd have 5 sites that were doing nothing but pissing off your surfers. It's all fixed now. I guess in my random testing I just didn't pick an old enough site when I tested off the IP on the new server. Downloading ALL free sites off old host into a folder and will burn to CD. ![]() Thanks, Cleo! ![]() |
