On November 29 there'll be a huge concert in Cape Town aiming to promote awareness of the pandemic in Africa. Acts include Queen, Bono, Anastacia, Beyonce, The Corrs, Eurythmics, Ladysmith Black Mambazo among others

The event is called 46664 (after Nelson Mandela's cell number) and is being organised by ex-Eurythmics Dave Stewart, in association with Queen and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

They are asking people to ring a local number and contribute to a global petition, asking governments to declare an emergency and give more money to help people with AIDS, including cheaper antiviral drugs. The campaign is called "Give One Minute"

The concert will be televised rights free by any broadcaster that wishes to do so.

It's about time something was done about this global disaster
