Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all

is NAT inadvertantly screwing me?

Hi. I've been unable, for the past month or so, to submit to LOR--my browser hangs and/or gives me an error page (I should say "browsers", as I've tried with IE, SlimBrowser, Netscape, and Mozilla). I've also had occasional problems with downloading stuff from certain sites and connecting to some sites (problems happen at the "login" level). I've rebooted, cleared cache, cookies, history, etc. It's happened with browsers that have been on my computer for a long time, and some (Net. and Mo.) that I downloaded specifically to address the problem. Now I'm wondering if, perhaps, the Network Address Translation/pseudo-firewall function of my Netgear RP614 router might be causing these difficulties. Anybody have an opinion on this? Thanks!

I'm behind NAT so I don't think that is your problem as I'm not having any problems.

I've seen people posting with problems like you are having and it turned out to have something to do with Norton.

Ahh. I do have Norton running all the time, and god knows it's not averse to throwing a wrench into whatever the hell I'm trying to do. I'll definately check that out. Thanks, Cleo!
