LL's That Banned for 404'ing sites b/c of 2257?

I 404'd all my sites back when the 2257 thing came out.

I think Greenguy had said he wasn't going to ban for 404'ing sites because of the 2257 saga, but I'm sure some did ban submitters for it.

Does anyone know of any LL's that did ban because of this?

Thanks!

It depends on how that 404ing was done. If the sites were sent to a pure 404 page, most link sites were pretty much accepting of the fact. However, some people saw it as a chance to redirect sites to sponsors or into mousetrap situations, and I know that if I saw that, the domains were banned, not just removed.

If you have names and domains, bring them on. Just a wild suggestion that this happened to "someone else" isn't really helpful.

Hi Alex.

"Just a wild suggestion that this happened to "someone else" isn't really helpful."

I don't understand what you mean?

I 404'd all my sites to redirect to my LL's index page. Thanks for the reply Alex.

Lowry, many people did the same thing, either 404ing to a link site, a hub, or a "real 404 page"... but a few people removed their sites and redirected directly to a sponsor (with console hell) or into a circle jerk multi console hell that nobody shoudl be subjected to. Those people got banned double quick.

Some people even had the brass attachments to leave their sites up and just pull all the images. There is a special place in hell for people who are so misleading.

I 404'd to a generic blank page that explained why I 404'ed (explained that it was a 2257 removal, etc) and I didn't get blacklisted anywhere. I think it all depends on how you did it.
