Pricing in description

What do you think is it good idea to write price of sponsor signup in promo description in my fs?
Some like
"Join for $ 29,99 only"

and 2nd - what usually you write at your hub description? I promoting only one sponsor, so I links "preview" adv to my hub

Unless you're selling FREE/cheap joins or $9/mo memberships, I woudn't mention the price.

Price is meaningless even if it's 50 cents/2 months if the surfer isn't interested in the goods. My policy is to show/tell what the surfer's going to get; get him/her interested in the product, and then let the tour seal the deal.

Whatever you do with the hub description, make sure you mention the domain name of your hub. Usually I just write "More free [category] porn at xyz.com."

I stay away from mentioning price. Programs have been known to change. If you are advertising a $1.95 3 day trial and the program changes to $4.95 3 day trial you have to remember what you had on each site. You are just making more work for yourself.

As Halfdeck mentioned, price is meaningless. If you are promoting what a person is looking for at a reasonable price, they are willing to pay.

I am selling on the 1$ and free trials.

Besides that i never mention price on my sites.
I have tried it, and the sales staggered.

If you include a price in your sales pitch, and mention in any way people need to pay for service, you'll notice a drop in click-throughs but increased ratio.

Personally, I like to include a price for all sites I promote. No matter if its $1 trial or $35 a month, it qualifies a surfer as a buyer when he/she clicks on my link and thus making it easier for paysite tour to sell.

I have to disagree (unless you're paying per click for the traffic thru some ad site)

Why bother telling them it's $30? Just let them take the tour & find out when they click the join link. I'd rather have the tour take a shot at selling them as opposed to scaring them away before they even see the tour. Sure, the ratio's will make you feel better if you mention the price before they get to the tour, but I'd rather have more sales & a less than stellar ratio

Back to the subject at hand, I agree with Halfdeck - mention it if it's a cheap/free trail or a cheap monthly charge ($10 or so)

I never mention cost on my galleries or sites. Those that convert well I send to the sponsor tour. Those that are harder to convert I send to a tour I build. Only after I'm sure I did my best to get them interested in joining do I offer a link to price...

I suggest everyone try both methods - it's strange how things work differently for different webmasters.

If you have good content on your free site/gallery then price will not be scary thing - since surfers are horny, they will register the price and subconsciously accept the fact they need to take out their credit cards. This will help the tour to sell with flashy graphics and surfers will not run away when they see $29.99 on join page.

Of course, it's hard to argue with GG on adult site marketing.

To avoid misunderstanding, I own a paysite reviews site, but I'm talking about free site/TGP galleries marketing.

Of course, on my reviews site, I display prices (all payment options). I do similar on free site/galleries.

No really, it's hard to argue with you - it's your board

Seriously, your link-o-rama looks the same for a decade, and that speaks for itself about doing things right. It's hard to tell you that you need to improve - when it's working. You might actually loose if you change stuff now.

I'll have to agree. When ratios suck, I do use price for filtering and try to send uninterested surfers off to hubs instead to sell them something else. There are also paysites out there with no selling point except for dirt-cheap price.

One point Mj. stress made is still valid. Sites like Porn DVD Direct changed their pricing last year at least once, and I remember having to go back and rewrite my "free for 7 days" sales pitch on a few of my hubs. It's not easy if the ads aren't database driven

I only use prices if it is a cheap or free trial.

I do like to include a price when doing ppc though.

Yep, I only offer price if there's something really special about the price. Most of the time, let the tour sell the paysite.

I have always said to never mention the price of the site. As a matter of fact, it was against the TOS to mention the price for the last program I worked for.

Why??? You never know when they are going to change the price.

Then when the price is changed you either don't know it and you look dumb to a surfer or you have to go around and change every damn thing. The exception that I've been using is for sponsors that have really big "multi site deals". As more consolidation happens sponsors are offering pretty good porn deals. You kinda have to pump up the "value". Still nothing like the word FREE.
