Ok- I am dense. I am in the process of signing up with epassporte and just don't get the 'loading' deal. From a casual user's point of view it sorta seems like I'd be paying $45 to sign up for the service. If I select Load Amount $50 there is a Load fee of $5 and states Balance is $45.00 I read the FAQ and i would think the Loading Fee should have an entry but it isn't explained. I mean- PayPal has no such thing when I attach a credit card to it. You say it's free, but what is this Load Amount and balance, etc? Is this the Amount epassporte will CHARGE my credit card and that would then be the amount I'd be able to USE with epassporte? Meaning, it's like making a deposit to an account to be used later? So, if I wanted all your sets at $150 and put the load amount at $150 they deduct $10 so my balance is $140.  Next step up is $200 leaving $190 balance, but really I'd never use epassporte again except for you. I guess I answered my own question about the Loading thing- but if that is the way it is that sucks. I don't want epassporte to take $200 from my credit card and I'd only use $150 of that balance leaving $50 sitting in there. Know what I mean? |

There is a link under the virtual Visa sign up page with the fees, let me quote it. FEES OF EPASSPORTE PERSONAL ACCOUNT ePassporte Virtual Visa Amount Virtual Card Activation Fee FREE Virtual Visa Annual Fee FREE the first year and $5 each subsequent year Load/Reload Fee $5 per $100 or portion thereof Peer-to-Peer Transfer Fee 25 cents (Five transactions a day, and then $1 per transaction for each subsequent transaction in the same day) You can have a card but it is NOT a must. But you know what? You can get that for what you have on your account.. It's Christmas soon, isn't it? I am hopeful Greenguy will understand it. Thanks for the helping hand! |

It's very good to BE back.
I guess I just tend to overthink things in general. Their FAQ sucks. Is what I stated above correct- the LOAD is what THEY will TAKE from my credit card and store in their system until I want to use it? I don't want any card...just to use it like PayPal so I can pay you- ya know. I sent ya e-mail to your personal account, btw. I don't think epassporte would ever take off here in the US for many users. People know PayPal here and when signing up with epassporte, they should have a VERY clear explanation of "Loading" and the balance, etc...because it looks like a big charge and many people will just leave. Dunno- guess it's just my opinion. I know folks outside the US have some probs accepting money. What about an option of an International Money Order from Post Office? |

You are wrong AW,
more and more adult sponsors, hosts and content providers accept ePassporte.. the reason is that Paypal can freeze your account and money anytime if they get to know the transaction is adult related. And though it is quite new, it is backed by Epoch. And now they wire you your income to your bank account if you wish so it is getting better and better. It made my life much easier. I got my card loaded and funded from Kimmy Kim for whom I did design so I cannot give you more info on the loading process... IMO is not the best option since I have a deadline, December 30 and it takes much longer to get snail mail this time of the year. anyway, thanks |

Yeah- I knew all that. From a users point of view it's a pain in the ass though. I just went to set up an account and would have to wait until tomorrow to see how much they test charged the card. So, I guessed twice and now need to call long distance to resolve it. Also, when I go to sign up they deduct $10 from the loading amount. $150 becomes $140. And then there is a fee on top of that to make a transaction? I want to pay YOU the $150, but don't ever plan on using epassporte personally. Can you take money from anyone else like Jim? I could just send Jim the funds via PayPal. It also seems ya can only do things in increments of $50 on epassporte. So, if ya need $150 I need to load it to $200, they deduct $10 and that becomes $190 then there is a small service charge per transaction. I don't want epassporte the transaction to cost $200 and that's what it seems like it will be unless you can accept the $140? <shrug> You know I want the stuff and it is a great price, but I don't want to give epassporte any more than I need to, know what I mean? Frustrating. I'll have to wait until tomorrow now. |

I am sorry for all the hassle I may have caused and do appreciate your help... I gave you $10 discount so please don't worry about that, $140 will do. They test charge your card for no more than $2.00 and it is temporary only. You don't have to call them if you don't want.. it is a security issue only and gone in 24 hours. Re increments, I sent someone $32.50 today then $5.00 because I made a typo and was charged 25 cents. You are charged 25 cents for sending $5.00 as well as max $ 500.00. Converting to paypal then back to epassporte is $25, been there, done that Did I say thanks? Now go and rest and take care of yourself.  |
