First accepted, then rejected...

Hi, I've just posted sites to LL's for about a week and a half, and I'm just a bit confused about what it is LL's want.

The first two sites I posted:

http://www.cumslutworld.com/gallerie...talcumtoysxxx/
http://www.cumslutworld.com/galleries/bigtitfuckdolls/

seemed to be accepted at most places I tried, including big LL's like Jay's, Greenguys, Hoes etc.

But then the ones I've tried after that (3-4 e.g)

http://www.cumslutworld.com/gallerie...erpolefuckers/
http://www.cumslutworld.com/gallerie...blackdicksxxx/

haven't been doing all that well. Now I know there's some chance involved and that you can't get all your sites listed but I'm just slightly woried since I seem to be going downhill here...

What would be the main reason the first ones were accepted and the other ones not? Is it because:

1. I've used the same sponsor (Topbucks) too many times in a row (not the same site though)
2. The content is overused already (this worries me.. it was new a week ago)
3. I linked to my MGP on the index page? (don't know why that would be a prob but..)
4. The templates look too much alike
5. The later sites are just plain ugly (I know, but is that really why?)

If it's reason 1 or 2, then maybe I shouldn't try posting my new site:
http://www.cumslutworld.com/galleries/imgtest/
(although the template certainly is different)?

Now that was a lot of blabla, forgive me I'm a newbie... help me!

Hi MightyMidget, nice to see you here

I've rejected one of your sites because you linked the title to your sponsor. I know not many LL's have this rule in their rules section but most of the big ones will reject you for this.

What I also noticed is you are linking entire text blocks. Like on this page: http://www.cumslutworld.com/gallerie...s/gallery1.htm

It's a good thing you are using text but try to only link 1 catchy phrase like "Check them out at blablabla" and leave the rest of the text unlinked. Your clickthrough ratio will go up and you'll get less rejections.

Also try to avoid using 15 different colors in your text, best thing to do is, IMHO, unlinked text -> 1 color, linked text -> another color.

Your new site looks good on the other hand

Hey there MightyMidget

I agree completely with Fonz...those huge blocks of linked text will cause problems with some reviewers. There's so much text linked, they could be considered blind links.

Also, on one of the sites...dont' recall which...but the gallery links on the main page were really tiny.

Lastly, your hosting will be an issue. Very few if any link sites will accept free hosting and you should check the TOS for that host as they don't allow adult content anyway. You can get good quality adult hosting very cheap these days.

Other than that, nice looking sites...you'll get accepted at a lot more place with just a few adjustments

Fonz: Thanks!

I didn't know some LL's didn't allow linking the title, thanks for that one.

Yeah I see what you mean about those textblock-links. It's ugly too, as are all the colors like you said... guess I thought I needed it to catch the surfers attention... but I'll refrain from now on

Mr Yum: yeah I know which sites you mean where the gallery links were really small, I figured afterwards that could have been why noone wanted it thanks

About the hosting... Damn! Actually, it's not free hosting (I pay $10 a month for unlimited bandwidth on doteasy, but I had NO CLUE they didn't accept porn ). Then why the heck did they accept my application for cumslutworld.com domain I ask myself... I feel stupid now.. but thanks a lot for pointing that out.. especially since I was about to buy some traffic - maybe they would have just shut me down

So what adult hosting can you recommend? Guess I'll have to transfer the domain...

Topbucks IS a pretty well covered program. Its not just that your submitting your pics, its the hundreds of other sites that are using the same sponsor content that reviewers are dealing with. Your content links could be a bit more obvious... but all in all they're pretty tight sites. Maybe think about varied content and using very different basic templates in between submits.

Keep it up

To answer your question about hosting.
A lot of us here use http://www.colo-cation.com it's run by cd34, a member of this board.

Fonz: thanks for the tip! It looks pretty sweet but virtual hosting only has 2Gb diskspace, and spending $300 on a dedicated server when I've hardly made a buck on porn yet seems a bit risky...

I had a look at DreamHost.com; $8/month for 20Gb and 1Tb of traffic sounds real good I must say.

Anyone had any experience with them, good or bad?? Pros and cons??

If you manage to fill up that 2GB with freesites and/or galleries you'll be able to afford that $300 for a dedicated server easely

About dreamhost, feel free to try them out but as said a thousand times before, you get what you pay for

I don't doubt that for a second, but more specifically, are the servers slow compared to colo-cation, traffic blocks and stuff? Or is it more that the service/support is lacking?

Only putting up movie galleries, I'll fill those 2Gb in 6 months (if I actually put up a freesite a day, which is the grand plan )

I've heard good and bad about dreamhost. The good being their low prices...the bad being performance issues across the board. Trust me, those of us that have been around a while learned the hard way...cheap hosting comes at a price.

You'll find in time that hosting is one of the most important aspects of this business. When your sites are down...you're paying the price for that cheap host in a big way. I've gone with cheap hosting over quality twice in the past several years...both times it came back to bite me in the ass BIG time.

Colo-cation hosts this board as well as many of the members here...absolutely a top notch host

Worth noting is that frequently the better hosts can and will adapt their basic plans to the needs of their customers. Only way to find out is to contact them directly and see what you can work out with em.

Added: A board search should also return some recommendations for good hosts
