Recip link groupings

Hello,

I've been building on my stash of link list to submit free sites to, and I've noticed that some of them ask to have their recips on the same page as specific link lists...
I'm guessing that all smaller lists would like to be on the page that the big ones will send traffic to, but with 100+ link lists, that is of course not possible.
So, I thought of making a random recip generator that'll make the groupings different for every new free site I build.. and then it should all be fair in the end.

However, could this then cause my sites to be denied listing on the big link lists? Meaning, do the big lists want to be on the same page... or are they big enough to not care?

IMO, you are putting too much thought into this. Everyone would like to be listed next to someone, but you don't always get what you want.

If I really were to submit to 100+ LL's, I'd take be most concerned with the bigger lists. If they have any rule that specifically states who they like to be next to, then I'd try to comply as best as possible and then move on.

I'd then place the rest of the recips where I want them. The only random thing I would do is if I submitted to multiple categories I'd make each category table hold different linklists just to mix things up a tad so the recip tables weren't always the same. Then leave it at that.

And if a linklist had a rule demanding to be with a certain recip, asking for specific recip placement, or some kind of lame-assed backlink requirement I would just delete that recip.

I dont worry about who they want to be listed with. When I build my first free site mirror (the one with all the big lists on it) I put them on there based on how much traffic they have sent me. I open up my webstats and work right down the list. I also put 3 random smaller sites on free site mirror 1. That gives me my top 12 referrers and 3 randomly picked smaller sites. The rest of my free site mirror recips are picked totally randomly. I just grab em randomly and put them in the table. If a site wants to be listed with the big link lists they should be listed there because they send alot of surfers, not because they demand it. Thats not fair to the big lists or to the smaller ones that dont demand it.

I had to cut a couple lists because they got greedy.

I usually group sites based on my own personal feelings.

I take my time to absorb all things about a LL: traffic, PR, other submitters, number of backlinks, how long my site will be listed, how I'm being linked too... etc.

But all that information is just too much to form some sort of rational decision. So I tend to just go at it intuitively, and then purposefully mix things up just to see what happens.

I'll try to keep the top ones together then. That makes most sense I guess. And then I'll spread them out randomly after that.
