A cure for what ails ya Jim

My Grandparents who were not drinkers turned me on to this when I was old enough (12) to handle it
Hot buttered rum. Take two shots of rum, add a pat of real butter and sprinkle some nutmeg in a large coffee mug, pour boiling water in and keep stirring it as you drink coz the nutmeg always goes to the bottom. It doesn't taste good, but it's not that bad either. Warms you up from the inside out and makes you very sleepy.
This will not work if you're puking, but if you feel some nastiness coming on, or it's already hit you. Drink one of these, go to bed with extra blankets, and you'll sleep like a baby and feel much better in the morning.

Thanks SheepGuy My wife is forcing me to do nothing today. If she knew I was awake and online, she would be screaming at me. But, even on a vacation, you have to check your email I have been drinking all sorts of concoctions and a lot of warm lemonade.

Yes some educated alcoholists used to do it... they eat a lot of fat before going drinking then can brag about not getting drunk fast.. it is old.

Well, I think I am at about 90% today. I feel good enough to go outside and do the running I have to do. But, not quite good enough to finish up my winter readiness work around the house. I still have a fever of 100.6 degrees. So I am either cold or really hot depending on the time of the day.

Glad you're feeling better Jim

Best way I've found to ditch a fever is to bundle up in warm clothes, get under the blankets and sweat the fucker out. Always wake up feeling SO much better

Of course, after all that sweating...a change of sheets and a shower are absolutely necessary

Madness is like gravity. All it takes is a little... push.

A good sweat beneath the sheets is good for any occasion.

If your fever's broke, a good salty soup or stew will help restore those lost electrolytes.
