freesite image question

i was wondering if there would be problems getting listed on link sites like mpl, sg's, lor, etc. if i created a site title image for a freesite and wrote the phrase "brought to you by ...." using a hub page name or url.

example - i have a linklist at www.whatever.com and made a freesite that said in small font "brought to you by whatever.com" on the site title image.

I am assuming as long as it isn't used as a part of the design on freesites very often (once every 30 days or so) and the overall site is very clean and worthy of a link, it wouldn't be a big deal.

What are your opinions.

I don't see why this would be a problem. People have those kind of links on the bottom of their pages all the time so why not right below the title? But that's just my opinion.

As a matter of fact, I just tried this (brought to you by...) under the site title linking to one of my link lists. I usually include this link at the bottom of every page on my free sites but I'm hoping to shake things up a bit by moving the link higher up. So far I haven't been declined anywhere for this.

i will have a link on the bottom of the page to my hub or link list at the time, but this is actually written on the image itself. The main title of the freesite, then in small font says brought to you by ... .

Not a link or anything, just a title image. Then when they see the link they may be more inclined to click being that they liked the current freesite and want more.

I'll just try it and see how it works, if i get declined i'll have an idea why.

I used a similar strategy - instead of a url on a photo, at the bottom in small print I include the copyright sign followed by my url(non linked).

So far no problems - I don't see any reasons why their could be.

It is all about building an online brand, it won't have any short term implication traffic wise, but over the longer term it will hopefully generate some recognition.
