Run a pay site? READ THIS!

I was doing a search on Google and I got pretty deep in the results when I stumbled across a web site that is selling access to user names and passwords to pay sites.

I won't post the site here so that it does not get abused, but they claim to add tens of thousands of sites daily. I tested some of the samples and I was sent directly to the members section of that pay site.

For more details or information, private message or ICQ me. You may already be aware of the site as it looks like it's been around a while.

I'm not sure what you can do legally if you find accounts for your site, but you can at least disable the account and stop access.

I realize this is an ongoing problem. On some boards, I was just short of being drop kicked for bringing it up.

If you use strongbox, then you are likely protected against wide spread abuse like this.

I am not a paysite owner, but my understanding is that you have to have strongbox or something similar, because there are always tons of sites out there who will abuse unprotected systems. Instead of trying to keep track of such sites (what's the point really?), owners should invest in protecting their sites.

True, but it was not that I was actually looking for the site, I stumbled across it.

Since then I have taken away their ability to accept payments, but their host does not seem to care that they are hosting the site.
