Unhappy Wrestlemania XX

Figures….

We drove all over the SE USA the last week and a half and came home in time to see Wrestlemania XX.

I stopped getting all other PPV's since they have been shit the last 3 years, but I ALWAYS got Wresltemania, no matter how bad it would look.

We was paying a monthly fee on a cable box we used 1 time a year, so 6 months ago I took it back, and today we went to go get it for the PPV this Sunday.

Only to be told the cable company no longer hands them out and they send people over and they can get here Tuesday.

So we asked Toni's dad to tape it, BUT he has a dish and its crappy weather here, so I’m sure he will lose the feed.

So may I ask one of you to PLEASE tape the show and I will be happy to pay you for the tape and shipping.

This is the first Wrestlemania I will not see live in....12 years...

Dammit!

I just read somewhere that Brock Lesnar is retiring to pursue a career in the NFL

Is this just a story line or true, he didn't play football in college,

Yeah, seems to be true.

This is the #1 wrestling news site, it’s been around since long before the internet (in snail mail) and it's usually 90% to 100% accurate.

PWTorch

Just beware to use your popup blockers; he has a few popup hell's there.

WWE.Com has not made an announcement yet, but odds are they are waiting until after Sunday.

Too bad, awesome talent, hope he will come back after some time off.

yeah and the WWE definitely need a new influx of young talent, its why I haven't watched it much in the last couple years

I went to King of the RIng a couple years back in Boston and Brock pressed the big show and gave him his move (forget the name) thats a lot of person to be pressing and picking up

yesterday USA today ran an article about how many wrestlers have died in the last few years.

I remember the 1st one in MSG in like 84 or 85, that was a who's who of wrestling.. good vs. evil.. etc.. my kids loved it, and we watched along..

after reading that article and seeing just how many had passed due to overdosing on various drugs and over use of steroids, it made me sad. No one forced them to ingest it, they took it of their own free will. They may have been encouraged to however but it was by their own choice.

Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig
Road Warrior Hawk
Miss Elizabeth
Crash Holly
Brian Pillman
Ravishing Rick Rude
Louie Spiccoli
Hercules Hernandez
British Bulldog, Davyboy Smith

and yet we still anticipate it.. They were OUR gladiators... i know my dish and my son will be glued to the tube once again...just an interesting list of those who have passed on..

Just finished watching it....

Overall a Huge Disappointment..... Last year I thought would be horrible, and that turned to be good and it blew this one away.

Too many missed spots, crowd didn’t care, and the only match I would be willing to watch again is the HHH/Benoit/HBK....

FINALLY Benoit gets his due.

That match was a 3 1/2 star out of 5 while the entire show deserves a 1 1/2 star.

BTW, Thanks for the offer of the tape MML....

My opinion might be skewed because I was there in the 4th row - LOL - but I thought it was pretty good overall - the Goldberg/Lesner match sucked ass but other than that, the other matches were entertaining to say the least.

Of course, I'm going to have to watch the PPV myself tomorrow to see everything :0

I have pics & will post them as soon as I get caught up with missing about a weeks worth of work

Quote of the night....

After Flair went to the top turnbuckle and was once more thrown to the mat....

Lawyer: "No Ric, not the top! I've never seen it work out good for you in your career, your 0 - 3000!"

Biggest disappointment to me was Rock/Sock, Foley looked awful, to me it looked like no one in the ring cared and they just went through the motions. No high points, no low points… just “there”.

But I do like Rocks tattoos, very awesome looking and a great tribute to his ancestors.

Crowd sounded dead until Lesner came out. What I find interesting is Goldberg is “done” with wrestling as well supposedly, But no one cared. Lesner deserved that win IMHO.

Forgot to say what pissed me off the most was the fucking ring crew.

Who the Fuck told them to go out and clean up the "hair cut table" when the WORLD TITLE match was beginning?

Un Fucking real, you see Angle walking down to the ring and 5 or 6 ring crew right next to him cleaning up a table. Someone needs to be fired for that.

This is the WRESTLERS time to be the center of attention, no one else should be seen from the moment his music starts to when he steps into the ring.

Also nice to see ONCE MORE a camera man runs into Shawn Michaels during a match. Not like he has a rep over the last 15 yrs of attacking camera men who get in the way during a match. Funny to see him catch himself from going after the dumbass.

Jesse was just plain awful; no one gives a shit about Donald. I don’t care if he hosted 19 Wrestlmania’s. I was really expecting Jesse to tell people to be sure to Vote, WWE has been really for that and when he came out I thought for sure that was what it was going to be about. They dropped the ball on that.

And they did an “ok” job of giving the hall of fame’ers a shot of glory. Makes me realize how old I am and how much I miss Bobby and Monsoon.

My opinion

Personally, I was quite disappointed (but it was still worth the PPV). It had the potential to be one of the best WrestleMania...

It seemed clear to me that the only reason The Rock came back was to market his latest movie. (The fact that Dwayne didn't say a word on Wrestlemania at Jay Leno speaks for itself) Foley wasn't his insane self. Where were the chairs? The tables? He surely didn't look like a hardcore legend there.

Kane/Undertake : It could have been better but I enjoyed Paul Bearer's return.

Jericho/Christian : Quite predictable but it's going to give Trish some colors in the storyline area.

HHH/Benoit/HBK : It was enjoyable except there was WAY too much blood on Sean to be believable. People were laughing at the movie theater...

Goldberg/Lesnar : Very boring match! I felt robbed.

Eddie/Angle: It was better than I thought but I really dislike Angle's style. It's boring as... Olympic wrestling. Eddie won a few points in my book.

Oddly enough, I think the match I enjoyed the most was the Cruiserweight match.

Entreri.

John - if you had any idea on how much I paid to travel 500 miles to watch Wrestlemania, your head would spin

It's one of those things that you have to experience to truly appreciate
