I'm wondering how "real and experienced connoisseurs of BDSM" will be interested in what you refer to as "real scenes that can be practiced safely" when the third episode on the tour "Functional bondage for all night" is about someone tied to a cross in a standing position with her arms overhead and left that way "all night." Most real perverts know that's a sure way to make someone lose consciousness from not being able to circulate enough oxygen-rich blood to the brain. Same effect as being made to stand at attention until you pass out.

You may want to get someone in the Lifestyle to consult with you on some of those scenes if you really want to appeal to, instead of drive away, those "real and experienced connoisseurs." In the case you mentioned it’s up to an individual tolerance and hardness of fixation. If it doesn’t bind too hard the sub can be standing for about 24 hours. It depends on her personal perceptiveness.

The text on the episode I mentioned says "any movements are impossible so discomfort and inconvenience are guaranteed" which would indicate that the bondage was indeed very tight. But most important in this case is that it's all about how the human body works. It's really science and medical knowledge that's needed to understand that even with bondage that isn't too tight, there's just no way to pump enough blood to the brain unless the person can move their large muscles. It doesn't really matter how experienced or how much "perceptiveness" the sub has, it all comes down to science.

Standing / Suspension, where the sub is held in an upright position for a prolonged period, can also have dangers. If a person remains in a vertical position without moving his legs for more than around thirty minutes there is danger of blood circulation being impaired. This can lead to a variety of problems, some of them serious.

Gravity will cause venous pooling (blood pumped by the heart to the lower body not returning as quickly as it would normally), thus depriving the heart of its normal volume of circulating blood. This reduces pressure in the arteries, and therefore reduces the amount of oxygenated blood reaching the brain, which in turn will lead to fainting. This happens sometimes, for example, with a soldier standing sentry without moving for a long time, and with people wearing parachutes or climbing harnesses who are left hanging following accidents. The medical term for this is orthostatic shock.

I'm guessing the sub in this case was not left in standing bondage overnight or even all night in reality, but I hope you'll share this information with whoever is organizing the photo sessions...just in case.

Thanks for continuing the discussion here since this is where it began, with your original post.

I do indeed know of Mixxxman and the Desadov Club, and I have no doubts of his experience with real-life bondage situations or his competence as a bondage rigger. However I also stand by my own opinion from spending most of my 55 years involved with extreme bdsm players who concur that medical knowledge is by no means "some general manuals" but instead a necessary foundation for Risk Aware Consensual Kink.*

Again, I am not in any way saying that I believe Mixxxman is himself unaware of all of these things, but only that I believe the actual photo shoot was not as described in the text and that the sub was not left in standing bondage all night/overnight where "any movements are impossible" as stated in the text. Experienced players and medical professionals know this leads to unconsciousness, brain damage, then death.

As I mentioned earlier, the site and the photos seem to be quality work. It's just that the text, particularly on that one episode, does not do a good job of representing the work being illustrated by the photos. Long-term standing bondage can indeed be done, just not as described.
