![]() Went out to a family dinner yesterday, which was nice. Unfortunately the sun shone and we ate outside. This would have made it even nicer but I am trying to conceal from my family how bad my health is getting (for example I have an extra large pair of shoes I use for family gatherings, so that if I have to slip them off, I can slip them back on easily without anyone seeing what a struggle I have putting on "normal sized" shoes). The host's garden is a steep hill (and I mean steep, about 45 degrees). They have terraced it, which means big deep steps to get to the end of the garden. I have problems with stairs.
I let everyone go ahead of me on the theory that if I was in front, they would realise how slow I was by being trapped behind me. Unfortunately this meant they were all sitting at the top of the hill, looking down, and watching me as I struggled up the steps trying to balance a plate of food in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. I did not just look as ill as I am, I looked a damn sight worse. Afterwards when saying "goodbye" an aunt made a comment about how they (her and my cousins) don't see enough of me and that we should meet up more often. It was kind of obvious that she was thinking "...before it is too late." |

It's morning... I can tell because my body really would like more sleep.
Up early because today is teh first Sunday of the month which means it's Jazz Brunch today and my Meetup group expects me to be there with my canopy setup. I almost wish it was raining so that it would get cancelled and I could juts go back to sleep. Had a good day yesterday, for the most part. Took our meetup group bike riding along Hollywood beach. We did just over 12 miles and my leg gave me very little pain so looking forward to being able to bike Shark Vally soon which is a 15-mile ride. But yesterday's ride was not without issues. One of our members had a bad wreck and she broke a few ribs. But that was kind of her fault because she thought it would be a good idea to have a few drinks while biking. Then that was my issues... first the volume button on my bluetooth earbuds fell off. Then when I got home the lock on my hitch must have fallen off while I was driving. I'm guessing that when I put the lock on I forgot to actually lock it. Got some good news on the earbuds this morning, though. After writing to the selling on Amazon what happened along with sending them a picture of the volume control that offered me a full refund on them. So I've ordered a replacement hitch lock and also ordered a different brand of earbuds as I never really liked the ones that broke. |

It's so nice outside. Although I have lots of work I want to do, I'll quit early to enjoy myself today. Cheers.
Also, Walking Dead finale tonight. |

I refuse to contribute to this thread.
But since I already did I can share some thoughts with you folks anyway. We had our first real day of spring today. 20°C/68°F and sunny weather. Been a long time since I got me some vitamine E. The gf and kids are heading out for a 5 day trip to the beach tomorrow. I'm staying behind to work 2 more days and then I'll join them. All you lurkers have a good day! |
