Help - I need an IRC client reccomendation

I went to log into "On the Bench" and Firefox was missing something and said it couldn't find the plug-in. So I downloaded Xfire and it wouldn't work (gamer crap)! So I downloaded Gaim & for the life of me I can't keep it running. It wants to say I'm away or I keep closing the windows by accident. I'm a spaz, but I'd like to participate! Anyone know of a client for WinXP that doesn't need an MBA to run. I had my coffee and questions ready. Sorry MML for blinking out.

Off-topic but, will I get banned or anything while I try to get this signature thing to work, if it goes wacko on me? I know the rules and what I want to do, just being carefull. Thanks

I would suggest MIRC or This Page has some links to others that work.....

MIRC is pretty easy to use and really straightforward...I have used it with Win XP and it works fine for me....
