I think my right arm is going to fall off

No, it's not from jerking off all day.
It has something to do with the way my arm rests on my desk when I work.
My hand actually gets cold from the blood being cut off.
Anyone else have this problem?

Sure does. You need to do some stretching exercises.

They used to have a bunch of links before the crash.

Maybe some people will post them again.

I have to have my arm resting on the table and also change positions often or this happens to me.

Hi Freeway
I don't know if this will help, but I use a mouse pad that has a raised wrist pad. It seems to do the trick for me.

Have a good One !!!

I have a mouse mat like LilBiggz's, with some kinda gel inside it. I think it's also important not to lean on your non-mouse arm too much.

Another important thing are screen breaks. I never smoke in the same room as a computer, so I take a break in the garden every few hours for a smoke. |rasta|

Oh yeah I know of this problem

That reminds I gotta get me one of them Pamela Anderson mousepads... maybe that'll help
Screenbreak are very important... not only for your arms, hands and shoulders... but also for your back and eyes.

I use a wireless touch pad and it never tires me out. Now a mouse will drive me crazy in just a couple of minutes. The only time I've used one in the last 10 years is when I was fixing a client problem.

Which is rare because most of my clients are keyboard entry only.

Yes, it is VERY important, sometimes my eyes start to hurt REAL bad, so I have to rest them

My partner and I both have been working on puters for many years...and yup, that's what happens.

Now it doesn't take anything at all for our arms, wrist and hands to go numb all the time. Forget about the neck....they're just shot!
Both of us are a mess and now we do all that we can to save what disk we have left (for two old farts...lol)

Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all

I had the massive right arm/wrist pain/numbness thing in a big way a few months ago. Found a mouse called the Gyration Ultra. It's got a gyro-thingie (yes, I believe that is the scientific term for the device) in it that senses the movement of the mouse, so you don't have to make contact with anything. You can sit with your hand on the arm of your chair or in your lap and control the cursor with small wrist movements. It's not precise enough for use with software that requires subtle cursor control--eg. Photoshop, etc.--but for just surfing the web, it allows you to rest your arm naturally. It's been a huge relief for me--when I first started having pain, I looked online for some info about repetitave stress injuries. I discovered that 3 of the top five or ten causes were computer use, guitar playing, and waiting tables (constant lifting of heavy plates). I read this after coming home from my "real" job, waiting tables, and sitting down at the computer with, as always, my guitar in my lap to play with whenever waiting for the computer to do it's thing. Damn.
