Great info Boogie!
Running blogs are fun, interactive and easy to expand. While I have a goal of a blog network focusing on a variety of niches, it's hard not to want to focus on making 1 be the best it can be. What I think a lot of people forget, is that a blog is like a fully operational site. Surfers want a variety of sections to visit, tips on the subject at hand, and as much info as possible about the niche in question. Very few blogs do this, but it's something that I learned as a blogger 5 years back. Not only will this be more candy for the surfer, but it'll earn you more bookmarkers, and the SE's will index you deeper. Look at the top blogs...They all follow this method...there is a reason for this. ![]()

I just found this thread and you're doing a good job with the tutorial. It can't be emphasized enough that a blog is for writing in. You can have some pics and ads for sponsors and such, but if you aren't writing, it isn't a blog. I do reviews daily for a blog toplist that has an Adults Only category and I delete sites every day from people who think that a TGP done with blogging software has value. Blogs work as a promotional tool because search engines index text and because people like to read them. If you aren't willing to set aside some time on a regular basis to do some writing, a blog isn't going to do you any good.

Networking, Networking, Networking
Networking, Networking, Networking
So now you've got your blog running. Its being updated often. You've got your RSS feed in hundreds of places. you're dropping a few trackbacks from time to time. You've even started a few link trades. All of these things are excelent but there is an aspect that some of you may be missing. Chances are you've gotten an email by now requesting a link exchange. It may be a starter up blog. It may be a blog without much traffic. What should you do? Networking is an absolute key to blogging. More link outs mean more links in. More links in means a happier google. When building TGP's we're warned about 'traffic outs' and we're concerned with 'trade scripts' and getting everything we can out of every single click. That's one way to do business, I guess. Another way is to take a small amount of trust in your fellow blogger. Look, when building a TGP anyone can pull it off. but only a good blogger can make another good blog. So when one of these link trades show up in your mailbox, take the time to actually read their blog. See what they're writing. See how they use their content. You still want to do the standard things, Study their alexa stats and their GOOGLE ratings. Check for backlinks. But, the major key here is reading their content. Looking at their design. Look, fleshbot was once only 1 entry long the day it went online. Now it pumps through more traffic each day than a large number of the TGP's out there. This isnt inflated traffic, its real honest to god people coming to read their text and visit their links. Its ok to abandon your general link swap principals if the person you're swapping with is creating a unique and interesting blogs that readers will enjoy. Before you know it they could explode into the blogsphere and have links coming from a-list bloggers that are dumping hits on their site left and right. You'll want to be part of that when it happens. This may seem contradictory to what I've said before but i've learned a few things in the past week. So I just had to add this. The blogsphere is more interlinked than any other aspect of the adult industry. Surfers are your life's blood and without many many veins for them to travel through they'll simply die. Having a large number of good links to other good blogs _IS_ content. If you link to 3 other blogs a surfer likes, and they like your blog as well, you may very well find yourself their new home page. You may well find yourself owning more traffic than you know what to do with ![]() So get out there and get the link swaps coming. Link to other articles you find interesting. Talk to other blog owners and get them to link to your articles as well. This is the formula that the biggest a-list bloggers follow. Fleshbot. Erosblog. The ones that lead the pack. Be a part of it ![]() |

Boogie,
I started few blogs on blogspot couple of months back. I would like to start one with my own domain name. Since I don't have much technical knowledge in installing script, I would like to host it at a place where they do bloghosting. Do you have any suggestion? Typepad seems to be nice. But do they allow porn blogs? Neo |
