New Discoveries for BETTER Prod
I noticed while surfing for trades that a lot of people open pages in New Windows. Frequently ill see something i personally want to see and I realized when I click a Thumb if a new window opens with a Site instead of the desired Gallery, its so much easier for me to just X out that site and try clicking again on the desired thumb or text.
However some sites send the hit within the SAME window and it was easier for me to close a new window than hit my back button cause IM ALREADY HERE, I may as well click that new image that has my attention now. From now on my sites will all send hits within the same window. Also think of this, if your site is looming in the background, what are your chances of a surfer signign up when they know they can just hit X and see more free stuff? Usually a surfer would rather go forward than backward. Forward to the sign up page : ) BOTTOM LINE, sending hits in new windows makes it easier for surfers to not sign up or not click anything and decreases the worth of your site all around. Salewise and Prodwise. Learn it, Know it, Practice it, Live it. Anyone looking for quality MUTUAL Trades ICQ Me 7013261 Herb |

I open new windows, and my conversion ratios are better than most. I don't think it really makes any difference on conversion ratio. I'd much rather have my site still open in the background so I get another shot at the surfer when he's done checking the site tour.

I open all links in the same window. It may sound a little strange, but it's true that there's still a lot of people in the world, who don't know much about browsers and navigation issues. Most of those, who sign up, belong to this category, because experienced surfers know all they need to know about paysites and free sites - they will not look for just 'free porn' in SE, like the newbes of the internet.
So, for a guy, who is looking for porn on his first or second surf (or even 100th surf), it is much easier to hit the back button than to click X. The guy probably doesn't even know that he can open different windows and close them in the browser. But this guy will clearly see that big back button in the interface of his browser. This is only the way I see the things - my personal opinion. This is why all my links open in the same window. |

Ok folks... Let's not forget all the great new multi-task mousies that are storming the store shelves. Hard to find a mouse now that does not have a back and forth button that functions as the back and forward buttons in most browsers.
My brother has one that I almost hit by accident every fucking time. Annoying, but may result in catching that surfers eye one extra time before he goes to joes site. |

I open links in a new window. The reason is simple...no matter how much surfing gets done, getting back to my site is only one click away!
