Some questions before I start
Hey folks,
I've been reading a lot here lately in order to get an idea of how to best setup a system before starting to build and submit like crazy, and I'd like to run some points by you masters of porn to make sure that I got it all right. 1) As I understand, doorway pages is a must if I want to submit to all LL's.. So, is it accepted all around to set them up in different folders as long as they're on the default page... like this: www.mydom.com/babe/HotBabe/v01/index.hml www.mydom.com/babe/HotBabe/v02/index.hml etc. 2) How many recip links can one have on one doorway in order to be listed everywhere? I've seen minimum figures of 5-6, but what about max... is 12 or 15 ok? I understand that it might get ugly if there are too many, but I'm just looking for what's accepted right now. 2) It seems to be an afull lot of work to build a site from scratch every single time, but templates are ok, right? If they're not overused that is... So if I would make 30 different templates and circulate them, and use dem in different categories, it should be ok, correct? 3) Are the only traffic sources worth bothering with: Galleries, Free Sites, SE's What about: Pic posts, top lists, AVS sites, TGP2? 4) What about free sponsor content vs buying cheap content? I'm thinking that sponsor provided content is probably over exposed and would prevent me from being listed. But some of the cheap content I've seen out there must surely have been bought and used many times over as well.. And the more expensive content can't be worth using for free sites and galleries, right? So should I just not worry about it and build pages with whatever I can get my hands on that is of decent quality... or might I end up on the dreaded BLACKLIST? 5) Exit links: Are there any good non-adult sponsors that can be used for this? 6) Error pages: is it ok to shoot popups and crazy stuff on these? 7) What about the 18 U.S.C. Section 2257 Compliance thing.. Not being a content provider I assume that I don't have to worry too much about this... or do I? Obviously I need to keep track on where I got the content from, but other than that, am I required to do anything in particular for free sites? That's all I can think of for now, THANKS MUCH! ![]() |

Soooo many questions! Good for you...always best to learn all one can before jumping in with both feet
![]() 1) Yes, that folder layout should be fine. One thing though...some link sites want to see all your html in the same folder. So, you may want to mirror the entire site into each folder setup. 2) Opinions vary, but these days I see everything from 9 to 20. When getting into the upper numbers, most folks use custom text only recips. Enables keeping things neater when having that many recips on the page. That said, as a beginner...you'll probably be better off sticking to regular recips and keeping it down to 12 or maybe 15 if you can get them to look good. 2 (again...lol)) Templates are used, however be very careful not to overdo it. You're on the right track to build 30 up front and keep them fresh by mixing up paysites/niches. Try not to repeat the same template more than once every 30 days. 3 ) In my humble opinion...any traffic can become a sale. So yes, get all you can...b/w is cheap these days. 4 ) The thing with sponsor content is it gets widespread pretty quickly so yes, it can get over-exposed. And a few link sites actually wont' list it at all...though those sites are in the minority. However, some paysites are really tough to promote without using their content (solo girl sites and some of the reality sites). I've used a lot of cheap content over the years and VERY rarely had trouble getting listed because of it Almost impossible to give a really concise answer on this one...it is pretty much use what quality content you can get for the niche. Doubt you'll have any blacklist worries unless you repeatedly submit sponsor content to a site that specifically excludes it...always read the rules. 5 ) Exit links are pretty much useless. I use warning pages, but it doesn't amount to much $$$. Most folks simply link to one of the engines. Also, not everyone actually uses an exit link since they're not really required by the rules. 6 ) That would be a very bad idea. Given that you could make a mistake on your site and end up sending a reviewer to console hell...THAT's a great way to end up on a blacklist. Also, and again jmo of course...but why the hell do people still think it's a good idea to abuse the surfer??? Not really directed at you iMan...but the console hell mindset is one that I think should have died off some time ago. Offer the surfer a good product...get his dick hard with juicy text and pics...and he'll buy ![]() 7 ) 2257 is still being fought in court. I won't offer up any legal opinions on it for obvious reasons. I will however say that link list reviewers are not the 2257 police. I think there may be a few link sites that require 2257 info. If you wish to submit to those, just make sure that your 2257 page doesn't have any links on it. That page should contain nothing but the 2257 info...period. That said, on my 2257 pages, I list the content providers info...and the content set number I used to create the site. Okay, that's about all I got ![]() |

Awesome, thanks lots MrYum!
With my no.6 point, popups on error pages, I was mainly thinking about giving something to people who's snooping around where they shouldn't... but I guess it's stupid to risk a backfire in case of a mistake on my part. I've been hit with those a few times myself ![]() I'll look more into the 2257... I'm more concerned with doing things right legally than what LL's may require on this one. I don't need no swat team busting down my door, taking my HD's ![]() Thanks again! ![]() |

I am very new in the business too, and about the templates, this is my plan.... for now.... Make a template for each day until I have 31, thats 1 for everyday of the month, I call them 1 2 3 4 etc. (this is an idea I got from somewhere else on these boards) use 1 on the 1. of the month, 2 on the second etc... When I have 31 templates, if I see something "cool" and get inspired to make another template (lets just say on the on the 3. of Maj), I would call that template 3-Jan-March-Maj-Juli-Sept-Nov and the old 3 template would be 3-and the rest of the months in the year, that way you keep getting more templates, and eventually in 1000 years or so, you would have a template for each day of the year ![]() Just my idea of how I will do it, it will probably change as I am still new to the business, as I said earlier |

Glad to help Iman
![]() Yea, the whole 2257 thing is still up in the air for now. Do a few board searches and you should come up with a wealth of information. |

Newbie submitter speaking, so keep it in context:
2) I've gotten away with as many as 20 on a clean, hand coded, custom text link recip table. Although, now I find that 16 looks much better (custom text recips) without forcing me to make too many more mirrors. 4) I've used a lot of free sponsor content, and the one thing I've noticed is that it is much harder to promote if only because not all sponsors are quite so niche specific, and some of those that are have been promoted to death! 5) I know a guy who adds a little extra coushin to his pocket using exit traffic. Might not make as much money compared to pumping those sites out everyday, but every little bit helps, I'm sure. ![]() 99) I've been told that SEO is a valuable thing. I explore it myself, but by far, the most important thing to do is get your system down. Fine tune your technique so you can get maximum exposure: build and submit every day! If you just do a bit of unique text every day you'll be able to figure the rest out as time goes on. ![]() 100) In the beggining, if you're curious, go ahead and look at your stats; just don't spend more than 60 seconds a day at it. Unless you've got a wide enough sample to make some sort of decision, anything more than that is a waste of time .

Thanks for your replies guys,
I thought of the building 1 template/day thing too. It's probably a good idea to spread out the work till it's done. But I've started to build really "bare bones" templates now so that I can make sure that they'll all different enough from the start... then I can add on to em' as I go. I would have thought that it would be easier to promote sites with sponsor provided content since it must be more targeted towards that sponsor's own sites... interesting. Do you know what sponsor that guy uses for his exit traffic virgohippy? All the ones I've found so far seems really crappy. Yeah, all I'm doing right now is setting up my system, ![]() Haven't submitted anything yet... but I'm not in a rush so that's fine. Although I'm sure I'll have to change my system a million times later anyway, I wanna get it as good as I possibly can right now. I imagine that looking at stats become a helluva lot more fun when there is more activity in the actual "Sale" column, LOL. But I get your point... looking at the stats won't increase sales. |
