Karaoke, air guitar, and now air-typing... where will the madness end?

Of course I meant to raise it up like that if you're using your external keyboard.

I guess you can't plug your monitor into your laptop? When I do the desk thing that's what I do, so my notebook screen becomes extra screen real estate.

For all the notebook/laptop users out there, here's something that I've used for a few years and really like: The AirDesk

Happy Birthday Jim.

And I see I have a tropical storm named after me -- or is it the female Chris that the storm is named after? Alberto, Beryl, Chris.... Alberto is male, so, I guess Beryl is female and Chris is male. What an honor...

I have used a laptop exclusively since 92 or so, and oddly, each time I go to buy a laptop, I end up with a Toshiba. I believe I'll have an Intel Mac Laptop next time though.

What I do is push the laptop back about 12-18 inches on the desk and let my forearms rest on the desk so there isn't as much of an angle on my wrists which is supposed to prevent Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Then, the chair is adjusted so that my back is straight and my arms are at a 45 degree angle, which reduces the angle considerably. I'm able to sit there for 16-20 hours without any back or neck pain. Whether that is a good thing or not, I don't know. At least with back or neck pain I would get up from the computer from time to time.

It is pretty easy to hook up an external keyboard and monitor to my machine, though I haven't done that. With today's USB keyboards and the external monitor port, if your main machine is dead, buy a USB keyboard and plug it in where your main machine is...

or use it as an excuse for a day off.

Pardon me, I must go buy some petrol. Seems my fuel delivery guy didn't, and I seem to be threatening.

Just came from the gas station where I filled up 13 five gallons of cans. When everyone saw me filling up all these gas cans I think I started a panic. There really is nothing like driving a Vette with 13 five gallon cans of gas all around you.

Emptied all the cans into the two 55 gallon drums that I have so now I need to make two more trips in order to completely fill the drums plus have all the cans filed.

Took the roof out and left the hatch open but I just had this image of exploding the whole way home. Naturally I spilled some on the passenger’s door sill so now I have the Vette sitting out in the sun with the top out and all the doors open.

I fucking hate these fucking god damn fucking storms!!!

Dude, I felt exactly the same way when someone on the old Powerbook list mentioned it years ago. Their site looked exactly as it does now, but one good look at their AirDesk and I was smacking my forehead and kicking myself in the ass at the same time. |goodidea

Now they didn't offer the AirGlasses back then. Those are new. I think they must be trying to capitalize on the number of people who like facial piercings already. I'm going to skip these for now. |badidea|

you guys need to spend more time on http://www.mobileplanet.com or http://www.mobiledesk.com/ then....

back in my road warrior days, I can remember many a rental car returned with 4 screwholes in the transmission tunnel where I mounted my laptop.

Sue, mobiledesk.com has a sunshade for your laptop that allows you to use it outside... or you can cut a cardboard box up which is much cheaper.

Im not having the best of days. We went out for a ride to the coast over the weekend and I caught my leg on the motorbike exhaust. Nice little burn that still bloody hurts. Happy Birthday Jim ;-)
