Page descriptions and keyword/phrases

Ok well log story short I'm building this stuff now and do I need to place differant keywords/phrases/descriptions on everypage or can I have it be the same on everypage? Also if It can be the same on everypage. Anyone know of a script to do this? I only have like 80 pages and some may say its allot some may say its not. But either way it could take me all week to change everything. Would be nice to do in 5 minutes. Thanks Jugg..

Can't think of any scripts that can do that off hand that can do differant scripts on every page, i have one that can do random from text file, if you want to replace all headers the same use the site manger in dreamweaver and find and replace on every page within the site

Thank you. Now a few last questions I have been looking for an answer today but cant seem to find anything solid. I have a header and footer page. 99% of my pages look for these two pages 1) Do I need to place Meta tags in them? 2) can I do that (cant seem to find much on that topic). The headers and footers dont seem to have the normal code as far as I can tell. The header pages top line with <body topmargin
etc then goes right to the stuff. No <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>. Etc. Thanks Jugg..

If your header is creating the first lines of your page, then must include:
DOCTYPE
<HTML>
<HEAD>
all the shit you want in the head
</HEAD>

You'll run into problems along the way, especially cross-browser, if you don't have the necessay coding to tell the browser what it is deciphering.

The footer must end the body and html.

The problem with having a universal header for most of your pages in the inability to customize the title, keywords, and description for the pages as the content changes from page to page.

Sounds like these pages are just includes. Which can come in handy, for elements that are the same on every page, like headers and footers, or like a menu for the top and bottom of the pages. They are handy because if you need to change them, you just change one or two files and all the pages are changed. Since they are include type elements they are apart from the <html><head><meta>, ect parts of the page.

Using a header/footer file is good, but if it's just text, you sure dont want the same text on every page.

Unless I got it all wrong and not what your doing..

Thats correct Ronnie. Thats just what they are, for navigation buttons and a page logo/graphic. From reading both posts here I figured out the deal. From playing with the index page last night I knowticed that all the page descriptions were for the correct pages regardless of the header and footer. Thanks for the posts guys. This place is the best. Jugg....
