Is mainstream waking up at last?

The more this get's to the general public the bigger chance we have of nipping it in the bud.

News article about Acacia and Universities

We need to get more exposure to it, I will be putting up a button on my site to inform people, any one else feel like doing the same?

Hey Paul

I think you have mail from Jim - if you haven't replied already, please do so today (and don't worry if you haven't read it yet - it's one of those "good news" emails - LOL)

Actually, this has been under discussion in all departments. Those of us who teach at UW and use live stream for those students who subscribe to the classes over the net. We also archive those classes because some are used for research purposes, think tanks etc. it would literally shut down places like the University of Phoenix with 98% of it's students taking classes from the net.

One of the other professors here is also involved in the porn industry from the technical side and without "outting" either of us, brought forth the possibilities in one of his team meetings in 'geekdomme". Several of the members also work for Microsoft, Amazon, and several other major corporations that could be impacted.

I totally agree that it is in our best interest to bring this issue to as much mainstream as possible, especially on an institutional level. All we need is 1 time for Acacia to say, ok you are exempt and their whole arguement will collapse.

Reply to the article and give them some more info, give the details to Brandon at www.fightthepatent.com he may be able to push it along.

With them now going for education the more exposure we give them the better for us.

Hey Paul, do you have any press release type thing that I could send them, I was very glad they'd written about it and said how stupid the patent was. I'll gladly send in info about it.
