META REFRESH Issue -- will this get me into trouble?
I've built a couple of free sites with an experimental feature: clicking on a sponsor link takes the surfer to another page on my site which then immediately redirects them to the appropriate sponsor page via meta refresh (the twisted reasons for going through this process are a little complicated and not really relevant). This process is not intended to mislead or do anything nefarious to the surfer -- the page they visit doesn't do anything other than redirect them to the site they were asking to go to -- nor is it designed to cheat anyone.
Just as I was about to start submitting the sites to link lists, I started wondering whether this was going to get me into trouble. I know all LL have at least some rules, explicit or not, about using redirects to cheat. Does that mean all redirects are bad news, or can I do what I've described without getting blacklisted? I appreciate your feedback. |

Thanks for the feedback. At this point I was just looking to test it and see how it worked. Even if it didn't work well in terms of traffic/sales, that would still be good to know. However, testing to see whether or not a technique will get you blacklisted doesn't seem like such a good idea. The php option would be nice... if I knew how to use php. So I'm just going to drop the idea for now and maybe come back to it later. Thanks again for the feedback.
