Wink Q 'bout choosing hosting company...

Hi there. I was browse through this forum and read some useful threads, but still have some questions about choosing a right hosting provider. I guess it could be useful for others too

1) Does anybody could spam here opinions about http://www.webair.com/ and http://www.realitychecknetwork.com/ hosting companies? I browse forum for the messages about this companies, most of them are positive, but I cant find any clearly expressed reactions about their work. Could anybody share your opinions about this companies? especially if u used them for a long time.

2) Dreamhost.com is too good to be true.. their prices are dumping.. what's the shortcomings then? I couldnt find any negative about this company except downing their services during problems with power in L.A. and unhurried support also. Well if it is stable I think that is not big problem, I hope the AC power crisises isnt become wont

3) Is there any list with banned hosting companies? What if my company will be banned for some shit like cheaters etc -- how could I move my content to another as much fast as I could?

Thanx anyway and sorry for my terrible English

All those hosts you mentioned I've read bad experiences from in different forums here.

Hmm.. ok, but what should I use then? Let's turn this question little more complicated : what company do you use?

I just need to find a hosting company for freesites posting (as you already could suspect). So, dedicated, cgi and etc not suitable for me at this moment as I think.. just stable and fast static hosting, log analizer (like webalizer for example), 100Gigs per month (ready to grow 5-6times next year). Could u recommend somethning? thanx

There are literally dozens of hosts that offer value packages that meet these needs.

You haven't said how much you are willing to pay. That would probably be a good starting point.

Surfn well I dont think that prices for this level and type of services may be too different like $1 and $100... What if I say $30? Is it not enough? Remember, our conversation is 'bout of non-dedicated shared static hosting... I do not think that prices much more bigger are defensible, I do not want to pay for the BRAND also.. all I need is reliable static hosting

You can get virtual hosting for less than $30 per month. Just remember you get what you pay for. Most of the threads about people having problems with their hosts are paying under $10 per month. |badidea|

... but if this amount is not enough I could pay more, of cource. I just wanna know that the price I pay is righteous for this type of hosting... And that it woldnt be banned for some shit like much medium-sized hostings already are. Let it be faith name then, heh I still think that difference beetwen the "faith name" and "brand name" could also reflect some price difference and it could have some benefit and economy in the "faith" side

I think it's very important that your pages load FAST. I've noticed significant difference in sales when my pages load fast. Paying the higher price for a more reliable host with a big pipe and servers that aren't overloaded will more than likely pay for itself in increased sales.

just my 2¢

I pay $75 and $50 for hosting per month. I like to spread my sites over two hosts for a few reasons but mostly so if something goes wrong (like the hurricanes) then I don't have all my sites down. Lol the funny thing is neither of my hosts have much in the way of downtime at all. Sometime soon I will need to put all of them on a dedicated box.
Both Phatservers and Colo have awesome service, answer my support emails or tickets in under an hour. Considering I live in a totally opposite time zone that is fantastic. They are a bit more expensive than other but hows this..
I just moved my main linklist to Colo and had a massive speed increase which should easily pay for the extra $35 I am paying as opposed to my old host. Thats not to mention the downtime, support time and changes being made to ips and stuff without notification. Bottom line you definitely get what you pay for!

This is why I go with dedicated for all my critical sites.
