When was the last time you saw a popup?

When I'm not working I'm surfing the net-seeing what other adult webmasters are doing with their sites,hubs,etc. This morning was no exception. But then something caught my eye. My popup blocker has blocked 26 popups. And it occured to me that I haven't seen a popup in a very long time. Now when I started building sites in 2001 it was not uncommon to put a popup on your hub. Than in 2004 I quit the business. Now I've been back just about 6 weeks and am pretty amazed that people are still using them. So when was the last time you guys saw a popup (or pop under).

I really don't see popups anymore. I have so much popup blocking "stuff" on my computer that they all get blocked. Surprisingly, it's the mainstream sites that have popups that get through my blockers more often than adult sites.

I have a copy of Firefox that spoofs IE with popup blocker turned off so that I can see what is really there and just how bad it is.

Me too. I see a significant percentage of mainstream sites have pop-ups. Bloggers who talk about the dangers of the adult industry but have pop-ups to match dot com strike me as especially odd.

Some could belive that the popup is not in ethical treatment of surfers/potential customers.

I don't believe in Not only is it annoying to surfers but IMO its futile when so many people have popup blockers. If people are using popup blockers they obviously don't want popups. You can make sales without screwing with the surfer or beating them over the head

And now the advertisers what to take legal action against popup-blockers.

Seems some sites are starting to deny surfers if they have blockers installed.
